This song was inspired by a man wanted for the murder of his girlfriend. As he fled he shot a police officer. This man was despised for his actions but he was also an Aboriginal man. It seems to me, since Europeans first arrived to North America that many First Nations people have been and continue to be despised unfairly when they have committed no crime.
