Huge one for us. We are over the moon for this, our biggest guest mix so far! We’ve been fans of Ruben’s for years now. His tracks and remixes are obligatory references in the gigs we play and the sets we mix. Meeting him in person at ADE last year was a treat and such a chill experience at the same time.

Ruben Karapetyan is a proud Armenian born in Yerevan & raised in Los Angeles, California. A veteran DJ who got his first pair of decks 3 decades back, he has been influenced by the ‘90s rave movement, as well as top notch pioneers of the Electronic Music industry such as Sasha, John Digweed, and Nick Warren amongst others!

Dubbed as Armenia’s Top Electronic export back from the late ‘90s by Zrutsaser, one of the biggest Music/Entertainment magazines at that time in Armenia, getting him on their front-cover, while previously hosting musicians & artists such as Madonna, Eminem, ao..!

In 2020 Ruben’s name got known to the modern electronic music industry with a signing on Greek imprint Movement Recordings, receiving massive remix treatment by heroes of Progressive House such as Stan Kolev & Emi Galvan in his ‘Gignesthai’ single that came in November, while his 2nd release entitled 'Hathor' including remixes by Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev reached #1 on Beatport’s Top10 prog releases. In 2021 Ruben signed with UK-based Lowbit Records with ‘Teardrop’ & ‘Karo’ following in Spring 2021 with remix treatment by Paul Angelo & Don Argento, and Alfonso Muchacho.

Since that time, he’s been a mainstay on labels like Mango Alley, UV, 3rd Avenue, One Dot Six Two, Univack, Transensations, Droid 9, Meanwhile Recordings… in addition to now running his own label, RKP Records.

Hailing from Lille, France, Clawz SG has been an avid electronic music enthusiast from a young age. His passion for producing was initially something he engaged in purely for himself and his friends, however after much support and encouragement, he finally decided to take that final leap, thus paving way for the birth of Clawz SG. 

Clawz SG stays true to his roots and remains an old school synth aficionado, having collected an impressive selection of numerous analogue vintage synthesizers over the years. His name has become synonymous with the Deep House and Melodic Techno sounds of today. 

His debut release with Parquet Recordings in 2014, was a significant milestone clocking up two highly acclaimed collaborated tracks titled “Obvious” and “Abyss”. The success from Parquet 082 cemented a solid springboard for his musical art form and opened the flood gates to a succession of accomplished releases. To date he has remixed and produced originals with a number of well-established labels and his creative aspirations have compelled him to embark on a new and exciting phase of his career by joining the Steyoyoke Recordings family. 

With numerous releases and EPs under his belt, broadening his career will never change Clawz SG’s deep-seated morals or values. He’s an individual with strong family ties, even dedicating an entire EP to his family and proudly upholds many noble attributes within all his professional connections, which assures lasting relationships and solid honest partnerships within the industry. 

With all these positive traits and artistic facets to boast, Clawz SG has definitely found kindred spirits in his alliance with the Steyoyoke family. 2024 is looking bright with a new album on the horizon.

@oli-inkognito is a seasoned DJ and producer whose journey through electronic music spans more than two decades. As one half of the acclaimed duo s.h.e.e.p. (based in Munich), Oli helped shape the progressive and organic techno scene across Germany and beyond. From 2002 to 2007, he served as A&R and label DJ for Munich’s Hardboiled Records, later joining Vertikal Records as a label DJ from 2007 to 2010. Today, he is an active member of Dicular Records.

Starting behind the decks in 1998, Oli quickly evolved from playing intimate gatherings to lighting up stages at festivals and clubs throughout Europe, South Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. His global resume includes standout performances at AfrikaBurn (SA) and some other festivals and Clubs in South Africa, Tresor (Berlin), Natraj Temple (Munich), Nine Bar (Goa), Full Moon & Half Moon Parties (Thailand), D-Apontia Gathering (Greece), and Zirk Parties (Amsterdam), among many others.

His signature sound—Organic Techno—is expansive, dynamic, and always rooted in a connection to the crowd. Whether playing main stages or igniting energy on alternative floors, Oli’s sets are immersive journeys crafted to move both body and mind.

Today, Oli Inkognito remains deeply dedicated to his craft, with a clear focus on DJing and creating powerful musical experiences that transcend borders and genres.

Ottawa Prog Vibes 311 – Oli Inkognito (Palatinat, Germany)

The 2018 original of this track was made famous by its inclusion in the acclaimed Yellowstone TV series and made this mysterious and super talented duo, Bad Flamingo, known to thousands of new fans. 

This is the first known remix of this landmark song. It is done by Canadian DJ Alain M and Argentinian DJ/Producer Niko Garcia, another duo that has collaborated on several releases including a few other bootlegs that have made their way to the biggest stages in electronic music.

“If I had to define my existence, it would not be written in a book, but played through notes in life over the years,” says our guest this week, none other than @jellyforthebabies.

Back in 2004, the fusion of the sounds of soft and mystical house rhythms as well as harmonic parts inspired by trance music gave rise to the first ideas of a project that would only start to appear more actively on the EDM scene a little later, a project called Jelly For The Babies.

What adorns the producer behind the above-mentioned project is the variety in his creations, playing with synths and rhythms, experimentation that eventually led to his sound being easily recognizable.

Just like his spirit, his music is not bound by genre, but is "free", and you can see the releases signed both for progressive and techno, as well as for publishing houses that cultivate the sound of deep, minimal and organic house music.

Therefore, the very thing that makes him original leads to his music, throughout his career, being supported, both through sets and through the charts, by artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Way Out West, Guy J and many others.

Then come the first international guest appearances, tours, festivals and club parties in Lithuania, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Holland, Italy as well as countries in the region.

Graduated Audio & Video engineer as well as the owner of three publishing houses, The Purr, One Of A Kind and RYNTH, where he emphasizes discovering new talents, giving young producers a chance, promoting them in the best possible way and mutual cooperation with more experienced colleagues as the key thing .

This week we welcome @andydegage, a talented DJ and producer known for his melodic house and techno style. Born and raised in Germany, Andy discovered his passion for music at an early age.  His journey into the world of electronic music began as a DJ in the late 1990s, playing in bars, discos and clubs.  

Highlights include legendary sets at ADE during label showcases for Chrom Records, Tanzgemeinschaft, and EMA, as well as Zug der Liebe in Berlin for the label Vorwärts Musik.  
He began producing his own beats and tracks in 2015, initially as a hobby, with his first release coming in 2019. Since then, he has produced numerous tracks and remixes for various artists and released them on many labels.

With a career that stretches back to an iconic era of UK club culture, @re-flectionuk is a DJ and producer deeply rooted in the sound of trance and progressive house. His early influences included legends like Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Quivver and Tilt whose depth and emotion helped shape his sonic identity.

Through the 2000s, Re-flection became a resident DJ for the iconic Miss Moneypenny’s, representing the brand on UK tours, at their Birmingham HQ and during multiple seasons at El Divino, Ibiza. He also played at the legendary Chuff Chuff parties and frequently for the legendary Godskitchen. These high-profile shows cemented his reputation for technical skill and versatility.

After a hiatus from the scene, Re-flection returned in 2024, reigniting his passion for progressive music and channelling it into original productions. His recent work crossing the genre borders of progressive/organic house and melodic techno has gained traction on the global scene, with support from respected tastemakers including Miss Monique marking a powerful re-entry to the spotlight.

Re-flection continues to evolve a sound that is rich in melody and atmosphere, designed to take you on an immersive emotional journey.

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.
