Here's my version of this great 60s track. Put together for a project that didn't quite make it all the way to gigging. Had a lot of fun with my Telecaster and stereo delays on this.

This is our version of the Robin Trower track Twice Removed from Yesterday from his debut album of the same name. The band plays a number of his tracks together with others by Groundhogs and others from the early 70s.

Alan Cork - The Men Who Came Home

Find yourself 90 minutes to listen to this. Steve Waller and friends at The Half Moon in Herne Hill at lunchtime on 12th November 1989. Taken from a cassette tape of a sound desk recording (so it's not brilliant fidelity but you can work out what's going on), here is one of the funniest, musically talented, gifted arrangers and entertainers you have heard for many a (half) moon. Backed by his regular rhythm section of Glen LeFleur (drums) and Pete Stroud (bass), Poli Palmer on electronic vibes, Jerome Marcus on percusion, me (Alan Cork) on midi guitar and another percussion player whose name I am struggling to remember (someone will fill me in - can't be sure from the intro on the tape). 
Many of Steve's regular tunes are here, (see below for track list) including a poignant Morning Dew for Remembrance Sunday, Fanlight Fanny, Rockin Robin and Voodoo Chile featuring the essential Zippy and George (which is perfectly picked up on this recording and had me LOLing).
The band are on fire, Steve is obviously having a great time and the percussionists come in for the usual stick! 
I was totally privileged to share a stage with musicians of this stature and quality and I learned so much at this time. One of the main things being to shut up when you don't know what to play! So if your wondering why you can't hear me, that's one of the reasons. The others being that I wasn't mic'd up and when you've got a great player like Steve you aren't adding anything by playing all over him (as some tried to do and were unceremoniously booted off stage!). 
It can be confusing trying to work out if it's me or not so if it's a bum note, it's probably me! My first solo is at 04.00 (sounds like a synth).
Anyway, put a decent set of headphones on, sit back and enjoy!
