Born In Dundee in 1981 Alan was raised in a small village called newtyle before attending school in kirriemuir where he first picked up the guitar aged 15. In 1997 he joined a beatles tribute band called 'Beatless' as a drummer before leaving to form school band 'Ransom' where he began to write original songs. Alan then went on to music college to enhance his guitar playing ability and songwriting skills and formed new band'Tamari'. After leaving education he then formed a three piece outfit called 'Hunter' which went on to become Emerald Sunday in february 2008.


Since 2008 as part of Emerald Sunday Alan has played all over the UK at fantastic venues such as London 02' Glasgow 02, Guildhall in Portsmouth, Newcastle Journal Tyne Theatre' Glasgow Concert Hall, The Garage in Glasgow' Buskers Dundee and more... With a back catalogue of around 200 songs Alan continues to write and record at a professional level.
