Brandy’s original version of ‘I Wanna Be Down’ was a defining hit of the Nineties R&B when it was first released in 1994. The track topped Billboard’s Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached #6 on Billboard Hot 100. 

“I was born in the Nineties and grew up in the Nineties listening to a lot of that style of R&B which was a big influence on me,” says G R A D E S. “It’s a song I love to play in my DJ sets and always goes down really well, so I wanted to put a modern spin on an old classic.”

Whitney Houston was such an inspiration for not just myself, but many generations of music lovers. Her seamless transition between phenomenal vocalist to outstanding actress made her a woman after my own heart. In honor of her August 9th birthday, I released a musical tribute featuring 11 of my favorite Whitney Houston classics. Arranged by producer Devin Johnson, these timeless songs are featured in a seamless medley entitled "ToWhitneyLoveJade." Recreating her timeless music was nostalgic and reminded me why I strive to create musical experiences that evoke emotion and spread a message of positivity and love. Happy Birthday, Whitney!

The upbeat jam, produced by Grammy Award winning producer, Symbolyc “S1” One (Kanye West, Beyonce, Jay-Z) and written/vocal produced by R&B crooner and Knight protégé, Avehre, will be released on Friday, September 25th.  “Just A Little” is the first mainstream dance record from Knight in nearly twenty years.
