Alana Murphy is a jack of all trades and a Master of Music in the New York City area, studying privately with Seymour Bernstein. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees in piano from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied primarily with Edmund Battersby and Arnaldo Cohen. Alana is currently a PhD candidate in musicology at The Graduate Center, CUNY, where her interests include eighteenth- and nineteenth-century piano music, Lieder, music-dance relationships, and Fin-de-Siecle Vienna.
