Swedish-born, but Berlin-based, La Fleur has been making waves in the dance world for almost a decade now. La Fleur is one of those individuals who excel at anything they put their mind to and as a result her career is now thriving. Her driving ambition to make music led to her hanging up the lab coat and leave her steady job as a pharmacist in order to pursue making people dance. She has a number of different ventures in motion, which, not only includes being a DJ and producer, but a label owner, fashion designer, radio host and a mixed media artist, all of which are seeing sustained levels of success.

Turning heads globally, La Fleur was recently named the #1 charted artist on Resident Advisor and won the P3 Guild award for ‘Best Electronic Act’. She has seen huge success from all of her releases, in particular 'Hedione' and her 'Flowerhead' EP which just received a 2016 rework and remixes from Cassy and Dana Ruh. As well as pushing out constant original releases, La Fleur has become a regular go-to producer for her remix skills: She’s recently remixed the likes of Andhim, Carl Craig and Ian Pooley, as well as being called upon to put together guest radio mixes for Pete Tong, B. Traits and Heidi. She is currently the resident at Watergate, featured at Panorama Bar and played for Boiler Room twice (most recently along side Richie Hawtin and Dubfire).

Now on the eve of her debut Australian tour which includes a highly anticipated set for Piknic Électronik in Melbourne (https://www.facebook.com/events/1313101602043820/), and with new music on the way in the form of a remix for Francesca Lombardo (to be released on Echoe) alongside a remix for Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound imprint, she has taken some time out of her busy schedule to deliver an excellent Balance Selections podcast. For over a decade now Christian Smith has been at the top of his game, and as one of the world’s leading exponents of techno, he has made his mark as a DJ, producer and label boss. Born in Stockholm, he had his formative years in Frankfurt, after which he spent some time in the USA before moving to Sao Paulo. Currently residing in Palma, Mallorca, you can say that his love for music is on par with his passion for experiencing different cultures, a lust for life which translate into his music and the success of his label, Tronic.

Since 1997 Tronic has been the go-to label for serious techno action, releasing tracks from the likes of Chus & Ceballos, ANNA, Paco Osuna, Loco & Jam, Kaiserdisco, Enrico Sangiuliano, Nick Curly and more. It recently celebrated it’s 200th release too, an impressive feat indeed, and is currently the number two best-selling techno label on Beatport. Tronic will also house his upcoming album which is slated for a release in October, a project which will feature collaborations with Victor Ruiz, Harry Romero, 2pole, Wehbba, Drunken Kong, and John Selway: ‘I am very pleased with the outcome of this project. Its mostly club tracks, but they all fit together nicely’. An enticing prospect.

Considering that majority of Christian’s online mixes are live recordings, we could’t be more happy to finally tease the label boss to create a special studio mix - and he shares the sentiment: ‘It’s very rare that I actually do mixes at home. I tend to use live recordings only, so this was a special one for me.’ On his Balance podcast you will get to hear some of the unreleased collaborations from the upcoming album, alongside another side to the producer: ‘I prepared a mix that’s still very much me, but also slightly more musical techno.’

For quite a few years now, Victor Ruiz has been known for his high quality productions, which has made him a highly sought after artist in the Techno scene. His “unofficial edits” of classic songs, are a huge part of Victor’s performances, with the most popular being “Breathe” by The Prodigy, “Children” from Robert Miles, “Everything Counts” from Depeche Mode (in collaboration with Thomas Schumacher), and his latest edit of “Teardrop” from Massive Attack. 

Apart from remixing the biggest names in the electronic music, such as MOBY, Stephan Bodzin, and Dubfire, he has reached the #1 position on the Beatport charts, with his own signature peak time melodic sound.

As a result of this success, the Brazilian born Berlin-based producer has been touring all around the world, from big festivals to intimate clubs, and judging by his performances and productions, he injects pure love with everything he does.
