Walking through a crowded park and everyone's alone.
Looking at a newspaper; staring at a phone.
Riding in the subway every one just looking down.
Trying to avoid the glance of everyone around.

Every day; there's more decay, it's getting old.
Something's wrong; the days so long; and we're so cold.
What's with us; there is no trust; no-one to hold.

Walking down a city street and no-one shows a smile.
Staring blankly straight ahead in silence all the while.
Sitting in our cubicles with headphones on all day.
Doing everything we can to keep the world at bay.

When did we lose the path; how did we go astray.
Will we find ourselves again; can we find a way.

Going for an evening walk; the people on the street.
Crossing to the other side to make sure we don't meet.
Seeking isolation; curling up within ourselves.
Living in our cyberspace; inside our empty shells.

Every day; there's more decay, it's getting old.
Something's wrong; the days so long; and we're so cold.
What's with us; there is no trust; no-one to hold.
