The Cycles is really hard to use as mainistrument. It is a very smart groovebox but i'ts most power lays in sequencing of drums, hats, perussion. It's got an analog Synthesizer for the Tone and Chord Section and its Factiry Synth Section with 204 Synth Effects, 36 FX Effects, 37 Hats, 80 Kickdrums etc. Everything is nice. FM Synthesis and enough samples. It is just fcking hard to sequence your melody and Attack/Acid and Klang Lines because yku have to do it with notes. You can scale every note by its own. So I've you finaly have a Groovebox with a wonderful analog Synthesizer but to hard to use as beginner. I is quite funny. Often beginners think the cycles where a Groovebox for beginners. But it isn't (it is a typical elektron instrument), tricky to use, a hundred different functions to explore and you have to take very much time and love to become friends with the cycles and it's functions. In this acid mental set i show you that the symbiosis of me and the machine is going on. A cycles is a professional instrument for especially drum sequences and able to bring smoove side effects. Harder styles, harder tasks. So my recommend about the cycles: Top drums, a (very hard and special to handle) analog Synthesizer but if you learned to scale your Steps and check out the drum fill pattern, the retrigger and its rolling, an effect tiimer and four FM Synth Controls: (Sweep, Contour, Color and Shape and 4 Sync Controls: (Pitch, Reverb, Decay and Delay <=The Delay timer of tge cycles is unique and last but not least it's six machines (Kick, Metal, Snare, Perc, Tone and Chord) which are a controlable with the FM Controls. So if you take your time andearn love this little Diva underr the Grooveboxes you will suprised with an absolut unique analog Tekno Flow. If you MIDI advice it with an TD3/TB303 kt is the perfect machine for full analog Acid Mental, Acid Tribe, Tekno Tribe, Acidcore, Mentalcore. My next idea is to buy a Behringer Crave to synth all the grooves i as am not able to do with the cycles. But everyone who decides to buy the cycle as first analog machine and your mainistrument of your workstation. Prepare for a travel through the lands of FM Synthesis and a Groovebox which is abled to give you a modern Techno or Trance Groove or Tekno in oldschool Style. I need much more instruments but the cycles will stay the heart of my workstation. It's drum blast heads away

This time it is a serious live recorded set. I tryed to change my style from oldschool acid more into analog mentaltribe and wanted to make it sound more plastic as woody. I used the comp and the 8 Bit snare an the 999cl hats at most of course just because they are my favorite samples in the cycles but this time in the most i composed the kickdrum effects by myself or choosed samples and turn them into something different by the synth and effect controllers. It is a bit easier to me to create kickdrums and effects by myself and turn the volume by myself that the sound fits better together because i use some new and better headphones now.
