Alarma delivers neo-latin dance music with influences from around the world, exploring the intersection of the personal, the socio-political, and nature itself. Drawing on elements from cumbia, electro-dance and reggae-ska, the music reflects the diverse city of Los Angeles that nourished Alarma’s sound. 

Alarma explores themes of self-empowerment, healing, unity and community. The focus is on grooves and melodies that set people into motion, self-rediscovery and release. The band has played various festivals, clubs and demonstrations throughout California while releasing two full-length albums, several music videos, plus a string of recent singles since the pandemic.

Alarma’s English/Spanish bilingual music has also been featured in fundraising events for Radio Totopo (an indigenous community radio station in Oaxaca, Mexico), as well as events for KPFK Los Angeles 90.7FM.
