This track has been on the back burner for a (very!) long time and started out as an outline composition in support of a short film, about a reincarnated witch.   As it turned out the film didn’t happen, but the song continued to evolve, and somewhere along the way got renamed to Selene!

It’s a song about two women, separated across time, and could follow several different themes: haunting, possession, reincarnation or perhaps love.. I'll leave you to decide..It touches on separation and isolation, the power of connections and perhaps a life rebuilt, for both the songs characters.

I’ve been very fortunate to be ably assisted in creating this track, by two fantastic pro musicians; Glenn Welman, on drums, and an absolute POWERHOUSE soprano vocal performance from Marion Schneider (Mioune) Without their talent, innovation and, in Marion’s case, a ton of advice, Selene would not be the track it is!  Thanks should also go to Joseph, at JREL Music Studio, Oklahoma City, whose mastering skills put the finishing touches to a track that I really am pleased with!  Thanks a million guys!

The lyrics from "silken shadows" seem to be good for another track, now with male vocals and an arrangement slightly leaning towards country folk.

What That The Heart Can Tell

"I didn't know what I know now, was it sure, till I poured out..."

If you've ever felt the need to just release everything, this song is that moment. "Heaven" is one of the most personal tracks on the album. I took all that heavy reflection and channeled it into this feeling of walking right into the water and letting the ocean take it.

It's about finding freedom when you're completely vulnerable ("I took off all my clothes, walked into the ocean"). The sound is that deep, soulful R&B that pulls you under, letting you sink into that space where tears become healing, that "river of tears drawing lines down my chest."

This track is the realization that Paradise isn't a place you go to, but a feeling you find when you finally allow yourself to be held and learn the true meaning of self-love. It's letting go, knowing that only by pouring out your truth can you discover what's sure.

I hope it brings you the same sense of release it brought me. Turn it up, close your eyes, and let it float you away.
