Khruangbin is a three-piece band from Texas, formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums.

Mark and DJ's roots are in R&B, Hip Hop and Gospel having played within the same gospel band for years. Both professional musicians, Mark began teaching Laura how to play bass in the summer of 2009. As such, Laura quickly developed a huge passion for the instrument and the aesthetic it brought to music she loved. Having worked studiously on developing her skills, both Mark and Laura were invited to tour with Ninja Tune's YPPAH supporting Bonobo across his 2010 American tour. 

The tour galvanised the two of them to start making music together more seriously, sowing the first seeds of Khruangbin. Taking influence from 1960's Thai funk - Khruangbin literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai - the two took a trip to a barn deep in the Texas countryside and jammed for the entire weekend, developing a sound which was steeped the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspiration. Khruangbin was formed, with D.J. the natural go to for drums.

Having kept in touch, Bonobo included Khruangbin's 'A Calf Born In Winter' on his 2013 'Late Night Tales' compilation. In addition to increasing the Stateside following the band has built, the release has helped Khruangbin in topping both the US & UK 'Last FM' fastest growing artists whilst 'A Calf Born In Winter' continues to be one of the most popular single downloads from the compilation. The band recently signed to LNT offshoot Night Time Stories, with an album planned in 2015.

Men I Trust - Break For Lovers Ft. Helena

Emerging from North London, Easy is the remarkable introduction to the musical world of singer Laville. Whilst Influenced via a creative cornucopia as he moved through his teens, more recently has seen this talented vocalist weave his own path with assistance from an array of friends and mutual musical acquaintances.

His teenage years followed a familiar journey through joy and trauma that saw him singing and DJ-ing locally, before a University place beckoned and briefly curtailed his musical ambitions. Employed in a series of jobs, from Michelin starred restaurants, leading front-of-house to help running various musical venues in London Laville has maintained a relentless work ethic, one that has since led back to his first love – Easy is the proof.

The compositional result of his fertile musical mind, lyrically the track has been simmering on the back burner, whilst being honed with the help of friends such as Jorja Smith producer Charlie J Perry, its soulful tones and analogue instrumentation providing an alluring starting point. Contemporary, but rooted in the classic virtues of music making
Easy highlights the impressive talents of Laville and certainly augurs well as he makes his first foray into the broader musical landscape.

Easy follows a recently made live debut (with full band) and Laville has found the ideal home at the small but perfectly formed Acid Jazz Records, for whom he is the first new male solo artist they have signed since Jamiroquai.

Two thirsty camels walk into a bar in Amsterdam. As they fill their humps with kegs of local beer, one camel turns to the other camel. “Ever got drunk with a camel below sea level?” The second camel turns to the first camel and winks. “Walk the camel walk, man.”

Rufus and Daniel have been making music together since they met in a bar in Amsterdam in 2010. After a four-year hiatus spent playing music separately on either side of the Atlantic, the duo reunited in Amsterdam where they engaged in an extended reunion party. They woke up two months later, thirsty and illuminated like two desiccated camel saints in a flooded desert. Camel Walk was born: a smooth-paced awakening, like a wave one could walk on, from one side of the Atlantic to the other, and back.
