One night I went into my living room, picked up the guitar and ad-libbed these four songs.

Hope in God is not a dream of tomorrow,
but a movement in today.
It keeps us upright when we stumble,
and it teaches us to love the imperfect,
because Christ already dwells within it.
So may this song accompany us—
a quiet gospel in our hearts,
a prayer in the night,
and a sign that the light never completely goes out.
