This is my entry to the April 10 (2021) edition of Facebook Composer Movie Challenge.  The subject is John Merrick (aka Joseph Merrick).  A severely disfigured man due to a congenital disease that lived in the 19th century London.  Director David Lynch has portrayed the character in a world that rejected him because of his disfigurement.  Not only that he was mistreated as a man but mistaken as a creature that posed danger to his fellow Londoner.

The film was shot in Black and White.  It was a very sad story about a human being that lived a turbulent life in an intrinsically hostile society.  It was a very tough challenge for me to come up with a theme that represents sorrow and horror of life.

I've originally began the composition with a violin solo but it was obvious to me that it deserved a granter facade.  Therefore, I expanded it to a full-fletched strings assembled.  This was by far, the toughest challenge that I've ever taken for the club...
