From the mid 90s to the mid 2000s and beyond, the Berlin based label Basic Channel and all its sublabels (Burial Mix, Chain Reaction, Rhythm and Sound, etc.) started exploring the territories of what was called "dub techno", together with other European indie labels. It was a mixture of dub techniques and rhythms with techno sounds. The result was a blend of analog warmth and freezing sonic landscapes, Caribbean grooves and minimal electronic music. It was, for over a decade, the German way to the dub style.
In this mix I try to explore the main artists involved in the that scene and also a few modern epigones keeping the heritage alive.
