Mountain Man - The Dog Song (BCB session)

This is Raman Bah Tuin playing one of his nose flutes (pensol).  Raman belongs to the Semai people, and lives in a village near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  This recording was made in the jungle, where he has a small patch of land.  

Raman told me that Chenloi is the spiritual name of a flower, and is a popular name with ethnic people. The tune represents wind blowing through the rainforest, the feeling associated with this wind, and the flower. This recording includes an introduction by Raman.

It is possible that I have the wrong title for this tune.  I recorded 3 tunes: Chenloi, Kasih Sayang and Sinui Pai, and I am not 100% sure I have labeled them in the right order.

I have not applied any EQ to these recordings, as I wanted to leave exactly as it was at the time, complete with the buzz and hum of the jungle insects.

These recordings were made on Minidisc, and the disc did fail a few times, so there is one drop-out towards the end of this tune.

I recorded several tunes with him on Minidisc, and the disc did fail a few times.  There was enough that I could piece together for 3 full tunes, but the remaining recordings are assembled here.  These are:
