Berlin based producer ''Synthek'' is a renowned name within contemporary Techno. Besides succesfully running his label Natch Records, he has been also a resident at the infamous Tresor. 
For the seventeenth installment in the string of Attic Music releases, Synthek (Luca Landolfi) comes up with a staggering EP that contains a lot of adventurous drum patterns, bold arrangements and swells of daring FX.
On the A side we find ''Loser'', which is a brave cut of spherical yet moody techno that uses a buldging percussion line and otherwordly fx to create an ominous vibe. ''Uneven Mind'' is an exotic cut with tough drum sounds that uses a hypnotic synth swell that cuts throughout to create an alarming atmosphere. French producer and Concrete resident Antigone comes up with an uplifting (eight minutes long) remix for ''Uneven Mind'' on the B side which is beautifully orchastrated throughout.
''Faithless''is a percussive cut with intense FX blips.

Best known for his ambient excursions as Voices From The Lake alongside Donato Dozzy, Neel joins Token with the 4-track Calcata for Token 76. From his collaborations with Dozzy to his solo work for their joint-run label Spazio Disponibile, Neel's studio experience as a mastering engineer has gained him recognition as a producer who pays great attention the technical aspects of his sound. 

The title track falls within our expectations of exquisite ambience, with fluid, rhythmic mids and a delicate interplay of organic and unnatural noise in the high end. The opening shuffling hats in Re. Vox cement the release firmly in Token territory, while the staggered exaggeration of a synth line falters between beats and more crafted waves of noise increase the stress. Bassiani evokes its Georgian namesake in hypnotic bliss, while Treja's murky bass follows a dizzying theme overhead.

N016 A.Morgan & Leghau - Constrained Reality EP 

Constrained Reality is the 16th edition of The Nursery series, which introduces Leghau to the label and warmly welcomes back A. Morgan. Both are owners of already fruitful discographies and so the fact that these four tracks have finesse written all over them, comes as no surprise. 

The work of Leghau elegantly displays experiments with synthesis, either beat-less or supported by percussion. It makes for the best introduction of himself that the Frenchman could have possibly made.
In succession, A. Morgan comes nothing short of that. His fast paced, dancefloor focused cutss are trippy and solid, with an ever present aggressiveness to them. 

The result of this is a convincing four-tracker, containing gems suitable for any given moment of the night. Therefore, it’s safe to say that TN016 will find its way to venues fast and easy.

Sigha’s lauded Metabolism album is further commended with a remix EP for Token 77. With three highly qualified label newcomers enlisted to the task of reimagining aspects of the album, the music is reworked into a new context to powerful effect.

Wata Igarashi’s flourishing recognition as a producer with striking competence and flair has marked him as a valuable affiliate on the record. He demonstrates different areas of focus with two new versions of Black Massing. The Daylight Breaks Remix opens up the high-end, expressing the delicate harmonics of the original with rushing upward arpeggios. The Dusk Falls Remix instead hones in on the deep and anticipatory nature of its foundation.

Marco Shuttle’s foreboding Morning Star remix feels skilfully subtractive, magnifying elements by adding space and drawing focus to its melodic asides. Function plays with the contemplative nature of Down in his version, adding dynamic percussion and energy while retaining its expression and depth.

Nearly a year since his last output for The Nursery, Vertical Spectrum re-joins the family for a mature four track EP from the Polish artist. And mature in this case means fierce, four to the floor material. 

Since last year’s EP, Vertical Spectrum convincingly shows to have said his goodbyes to melody and its substitute has been found in the form of ballsy DJ-tool techno. Haunting atmospheres and stomping percussion characterize his newest works, without ever losing the sense of complexity thanks to its impressive layering of sounds. 

It undeniably results in Midnight Poison indeed. The kind that paralyzes, intoxicates and leaves scarce pause for breath – if any at all. No-nonsense club material in its purest form, as one might expect from Poland’s sub surfaces.

"It pulses and glows distantly. It eludes me, slides further away. There is an aurora just over the horizon, behind the peaks. I am in an open space, a plane expands on all sides. I stand on a plateau and the earth rises up before my eyes. Hardened lava or the metamorphosed oceanic floor thrusts upwards. Zenithal. Now I see: all matter is vibrating, always, but on a scale that wasn’t perceivable before. Lights resonate on the brink of my vision. Sound grows and I can no longer locate my body in space. My limbs expand, coalesce, mell with the air in a regular pulse. I radiate. If nature is an infinite sphere, then its center is everywhere, coinciding with me. Direction is irrelevant. I vacillate, I ascend a perpetually spiralling helix. I pace the strands and strains of existence. When I stand still the helix continues to unfurl beneath me. I evolve upwards. Particles click in and out of being. In here there’s no need for eyes. 
What used to be my body is now only movement itself, a flow of sounds in fleeting waves. I amplify, refine, diffuse. In this space, nothing can be named. Individual forms no longer exist. All matter expands and contracts together. Breathes in and out. This is crystalline immersion. This is the realisation that a true void exists nowhere, not in nature nor in the mind."
