Flug (Sebastián López) is a powerhouse in the global techno scene, revered for his thunderous kick drums, razor-sharp hi-hats, and deep, driving bass lines. His disciplined approach in the studio, paired with an unshakable passion for the craft, has shaped a signature sound instantly recognizable on dance floors worldwide.

With a career spanning over a decade, Flug has commanded the decks at legendary venues like Fabrik (Madrid), Womb (Tokyo), and Brunch (Barcelona), along with electrifying performances at top-tier festivals including DGTL, MAYDAY, CRSSD, and Nature One.

His meticulous sound design has earned the respect of industry giants, leading to releases on influential labels such as CLR, Trip, Soma, JAM, MORD, and DCLTD. His critically acclaimed album In Safe Hiding received a flawless 10/10 rating from Mixmag Germany for its depth and emotional resonance. Since his 2007 debut EP, Flug has amassed over 100 releases, collaborating with icons like Grammy-winner Dubfire and The Advent while delivering remixes for techno heavyweights such as Slam, Nicole Moudaber, Indira Paganotto, Marco Bailey, Renato Cohen, Marco Faraone, Mark Broom, and Coyu.

Based in Barcelona, Flug has been instrumental in shaping the city’s underground scene, co-founding the influential Insert and Rezonanz brands. He also spearheads Flug Invites, a cutting-edge streaming series in collaboration with Bridge 48, where he serves as brand ambassador. Currently, he holds the #1 spot in the raw deep hypnotic techno genre on Beatport, with his track The Piano reigning as the best-selling track of all time in the category, holding the top position for an entire year.

Pushing the boundaries of techno, Flug launched his own imprint, Existentia, in 2020, as a platform for his ever-evolving artistic vision. Hurdslenk, aka Rich Griffin, was first introduced to electronic music in the late ’90s and early 2000s. As an avid clubber, he had the opportunity to experience some of the UK’s most iconic techno institutions.

In 2017, he began a journey into music production. Drawing from his personal influences and adopting a hardware-focused approach, he has developed a distinctive sound—marked by distorted percussion, gritty textures, and relentless rhythms.

His work has since been released on respected labels including Key Vinyl, Hardgroove, Out of Place, Frenzy, Vault Records, and V32.

Over lockdown I must have listened to every Helter Skelter set ever recorded! I did a series of mixes celebrating 1996 to 1999 but then I went back and listened to the 17th Sep 93 tapes and realised I had so many tunes from these sets. 

I decided to put a set together of JUST tunes from the tapes, there's so much variety whether it was the pianos from the Slipmatt set, the darkness from the Randall set or the weirdness from The Music Maker set...93 was such an exciting year. I hope you enjoy my tribute to this crazy year where the light and the dark clashed and hardcore jungle techno reigned supreme...
