Yesssss! We’re back!
After about two years of being the Ballroom Records Radioshow the Eagle Sessions are back with an one hour format.
As you’ve maybe heard I decided to leave Ballroom Records for good. In the past months I had not that much time anymore for my own music as both Ballroom and also my project seeqnc we’re growing significantly and I had to choose which way to go.

So here I am now…doing my weekly show again presenting you some of my latest tracks and music I adore as well as music by artists and friends I will invite to do sets for the show.

Also I will keep you updated about what’s going on in my carreer and in the scene.

Anyways…that’s enough for the moment, here’s some new tunes episodes will continue from where we were with the Ballroom Radioshow….so this is number 293 and we’re counting towards the 300!

We look forward to the artists description once it is translated from German... Thank you Deep. This mix starts almost in a folky vein but at 45 minutes really gets into it's groove. You will absolutely be captivated but the sheer talent and imagination that is H.K.

INTERVIEW

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
"Daily life impressions, emotions, atmospheres and places around the world. Also a night out listening to impressive dj’s brings me a lot, which is not much happening at the moment with the current situation of the clubs being closed and I recognized I miss a lot of inspiration from that. But it's interesting that I'm forced to find other sources to get inspiration from. For example I love visual arts and paintings, which I can use to get inspiration from. Also I visit a lot of abandoned places for my events which are all different and have different atmospheres, this gives me a lot of ideas as well. Besides that, I can also get very inspired by simply starting jamming in the studio without any clear goal."

How do you stay focussed in a world of constant distraction?
"I take time to plan in a few days where I only work on music and do nothing else. I am quite quickly distracted, impulsive and all over the place mostly. So I need to have my working place and be able to close myself off."

Do you have a morning routine?
"Not at all, I'm a night person so mostly I start my day after morning."

What fascinates you about your art?
"Several things. It’s a nice feeling to create something out of nothing and I love the way I can travel in my own mind and thoughts through sound. I can listen and work for hours on music and get through different thoughts, feelings and emotions. This works as a sort of meditation which is needed for me. The social way music connects is very fascinating as well. Meeting so many people at different places which I get connected with by sharing the same art, doing projects and learning from each other. And keeping to learn producing music is never ending. There is so much you can create and discover, you can go as far as you want which never gets boring."

What for you is the purpose of art?
"Expression, for me it’s all an expression of life."

The Eagle has landed….This is AlBird hosting your weekly Eagle Sessions, this is episode number 295 thanks for tuning in to the show.

What’s new?
Some of you might have already heard that I’ve left Ballroom Records and I’m on to new things. Mainly including one of my projects - ‘seeqnc’ - which started back in my Vienna-days. We’re basically letting artists know in real-time when their music is played live. Since there’s not that much live going on we changed our strategy toward streaming and we’re closely working together with Beatport right now. 

Because of that I started a to watch a lot of these live-streams from all kinds of DJs and styles and I heard some amazing new music. I can only recommend watching some of those streams. We’ll provide you live track IDs with seeqnc on Beatport’s twitch channel so you can instantly grab the tunes you dig!

Anyway…I started to rethink my ambition towards my sets a bit, especially with radio and streams and I decided to get a bit more versatile on my sets. EAGLE SESSIONS #300

Yes, it’s 300!!! Wow, who would have thought that, when I started this show in October 2014! 6 Years later it’s 300 episode and counting! Started as a monthly podcast, became bi-weekly, finally weekly…extended the show to two hours including guestmixes with so far almost 200 different DJs from all over the world, changed the name to the Ballroom Records Radioshow during my time with Ballroom Records and now since about 2 months I’m back with my original Eagle Sessions.

I decided to do a little special over the next couple of episodes. I went through the older playlists (yes, I still got them all one by one!) and started playing old favourites. And I will go step by step to the later years….first one is only track from 2014 and 2015 and the more mellow stuff…some great memories came up playing those…tracks by Jonas Saalbach, Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin, Maceo Plex, Gunnar Stiller and many more!
