A Nights Vibe August

For number forty two, comes a mix from someone whose mixes have soundtracked many of my days in the last few years. @alblayney is a Dublin, Ireland based digger, DJ and label head - running @appiansounds label and more recently @spaceshepherdmusic

Al is a relentless digger for smooth dub techno and dreamy house and electronica records - sounds which trademark his always lovely mixes. 
Beyond his knack for crafting mixes, Al's label @appiansounds has seen releases from the likes of @forest-drive-west , @o-utlier and many more, and boasts a diverse, classy and exciting catalogue of music.

Here's the first hour of my set played on the Sunday evening at 6pm at Springkell in Scotland. A beautiful small party curated and organised by Ario from https://soundcloud.com/astralindustries and soundcloud.com/o-utlier It was a magical few days with so much great music and friendly faces at every turn. 

I was feeling a little fragile when i stepped up to play after 2 days of indulgence but enjoyed warming things up. Already looking forward to next year! Thanks to Moy Santana for the recording and to all the Springkell crew : )

Another magical weekend at Springkell in Scotland (In November 2022 )with a great bunch of heads. So many talented artists were present and blew me away with their music and selections. This set was played in warmup territory at 6:30pm  on day 2 with x2 Technics and with a nice buzz in the room.

Inner Mix // June 2015

A mix of two halves this. First half deeper, slower, melodic  textures then more straight up Techno vibes for the second part. Compiled on a saturday night-in - perhaps the reason it gets banging!

A mix dedicated to my new friends in Madrid. . . 

I was lucky enough to be invited to play @ one of the Downbeat label nights in Madrid in late October. It was my first time playing out at a club in years. When Alfonso contacted me it was an amazing moment......Downbeat for me is one of the best underground Labels anywhere. This mix was compiled from the bag of records i brought with me to the party.....albeit quite a bit shorter in length.

Its been so so long since i've uploaded a mix here. Long overdue. Have been doing podcasts for different heads but thought it was  about time to stick one up here. Mixed on a quiet sunday afternoon with my trusty Technics with so many good records to choose from - constantly inspired by the abundance of amazing new artists. A quick mid summer pit stop to put down some new vinyl i've been picking up from the never ending pool of talent. Only a little planning went into this one so not sure if the mix went anywhere but i hope you like the tracks (and pic of bumblebee that got caught in my kitchen & needed refueling). Fly By // Aug 2017

Been taking some time out and spending it in the west of Ireland between two special places - a cottage by a beautiful lake called Lough Mask and a gaff close to the sea in Connemara. Haven't put out a mix in so so long and have lots of music i want to share. Good for listening en route to festivals perhaps. Will try not to wait so long next time.  Vinyl from Lost Epcot, Estrato Aurora, B12, The Smoke Clears........amongst others.
