Jonny's Silvermoon project has moved on from its initial howling at the moon, supernatural obsession to chasing the sun for a better and brighter day.
I Dream Desires’ contemporary yet world-weary sound reflects a difficult year. In a shift from 2022’s Algerbraic Means, Jonny’s band provides a gritty, insistent almost motorik rhythm. A sun-soaked melody and ear worm refrains powered by battered old synths.

Silvermoon - Rituals - 09 - Faith

Jonny began his long journey through music playing in a band with Jane Weaver in the early 1990s. During the 2000s he let music drift away from his life. After a period of illness he realised one of the causes was not having music in his life anymore.
Freed from any form of expectation or objective, Jonny created the template for Silvermoon - reaching for every influence he’d had since childhood, Synth pop, TV horror shows, Tomorrows World, fairy tales, Top 40 7-inch singles, 80s adverts, video games, Andy Summers guitar sound, shoe gazing and 60s spy novels all came hurtling together.
Jonny started recording the Silvermoon album over 2 years at Eve studios with engineer Henry Broadhead and his good friend and drummer John Jennings. Gigs in 2019 described him as a space pop romantic with tales of school discos and supernatural possession.
