Walter Jones has been composing music since 1977 and released his first record in 2003. He has released on various labels such as DFA, Westbound, Supersoul, Cisco/Stevier, HAKT, Permanent Vacation, Under the Shade. With "Instant Gratification," his second outing on Whiskey Pickle, the Louisiana based producer offers four, cosmically tinged dance tracks that sparkle effortless class and unique flair. Presented for the label's sophomore vinyl release, we are treated with bouncy, house-bumpers ("Razzmatazz" and "The Grinder"), low tempo chuggers ("Harmonic Urgency") and even ambient works ("Making Love").

Since I was a kid I’ve always had trouble finding the focus. May it be focus on homework, reading a book or work-related stuff. The only way for me achieve that is through music. By becoming one with repetitive and hypnotic beats, dissolving into the sound, into the subtle dynamics, chanting vocals, high-hats and atmospheres coming and going, layers on top of the deep caressing bass. The music becomes eternal as our world keeps rotating, seconds turn into minutes into hours. One needs to dive deep into the music, embrace it in order to find peace of mind and focus in our everyday physical world.

This tape is made up of 11 tracks, looped, layered and repeated on the go. Most of the time there are at least 3 tracks playing at once. The mission is to create a meditative trance state with beats, loops and patterns, coming and disappearing, sometimes being right in front of you, sometimes just making love in the background. But never disapearing completely.
