With a "Gold Dusted" sprinkling, Vitamindevo cast a golden tech house glow over the Particles 2015 summer. Now reprising the EP, we deliver a pair of new interpretations from two über cool artists with their fingers on the pulse of the thriving SoCal scene.

Impressing with an innate musical sensibility, US DJ and producer, Mark Slee, carries all before him across the bay area. Involved in the music industry for over fifteen years, DJ appearances including a global presence that has realised gigs in South Africa, Mexico and East Coast USA, has seen Slee charter an impressive voyage. Across his San Francisco hometown, appearances alongside Danny Tenaglia, Guy Gerber and Danny Howells has also provided a conduit for Mark Slee's reputation to radiate across the city through the Listed Bookings agency.

As a producer, Mark Slee's developing talent is no less impressive. A 2013 debut, remixing Autim for Looq has led to a further quarter century of production credits for the label including 2014's trilogy of original releases that revelled in deep house glory. Further work for the likes of Cityfox and Submarine Vibes have continued the deep vibe before a remix of Oliver Lieb opened Mark's account for Proton Music, alongside his chart-topping "Heron Sound" Proton Radio show. Now, returning for a second remix, the Mark Slee interpretation of "Gold Dusted" fuses deep percussive rhythms with his penchant for flowing melodic phrasing. A multitude of additional production adds character and depth to a work firmly rooted in the playful nature of Vitamindevo's original as new melody and staccato vocal cuts combine to impressive effect.

Part of the all-conquering Desert Hearts roster, and one half of the highly impressive, Bells and Whistles outfit, Yannick Rieffel is a man of innumerable talents. With production partner, Zack Yakovlev, the pair have found their sound writ large over southern California with appearances at clubs across San Francisco and, most recently, as part of the huge "Desert Hearts Spring Festival" at Los Coyotes Reservation. A clutch of releases spans a production career that began with a remix for Mioli Music in 2012 while May 2015's "Hands" EP for Desert Hearts went on to feature on both the Evocative and Visceral compilation series, thus marking a high point on Bells and Whistles odyssey.

Now, branching out on his own under a new production moniker, Yannick Reiffel debuts his Foolish Fox soubriquet on Particles. Upholding the sonic keystones that feature in the original, the Foolish Fox remix of "Rip Tide" is a delicious voyage in deep house virtuosity. A decadent beat relishes its carefree relationship to pin point timing as a swung hi-hat rhythm section and deep kick provide the perfect vehicle on which to carry a rich bass groove. Building to a crescendo at the mid-point interval, rhythm, melody and additional production marry in exquisite execution in the final movements.

A pair of gold standard remixes from Mark Slee and Foolish Fox have ensured that Vitamindevo's hallmark sound continues to shine through "Gold Dusted".

Taking a look back at one of our favorite releases on the Shores imprint from Emergent Music veteran Roman Prus, we pleasantly revisit the Lunar Hook EP, this time remixed by a solid variety of veterans from the roster as well.

Having been a monumental collection from the start, the 4 tracks found on the original 'Lunar Hook EP' were definitely a turning point for this increasingly talented and varietal producer, pushing a new and more deep derived sound for Roman. Now we see 4 veteran names at Emergent Music step up to the plate to give their own spin on each of these singles, the roster includes Mizar B, Skua, Will Canas and Shwin, who all delivered some stand-out remixes that take each track in a different direction than the originals, just as anyone would expect from these truly versatile and talented artists.

Making a truly golden EP shine once more even brighter, this is Mizar B, Skua, Will Canas and Shwin with the jaw-dropping new 'Lunar Hook EP [The Remixes]'.

LA-based Tara Brooks makes her Bedrock debut with the compelling 3-track Eunoia EP. This supremely talented DJ/Producer is renowned for weaving magical melodies with deep soulful grooves, blending hints of darkness and light, all connected with a steadfast flow of uplifting positivity. Taras passion for music is contagious, and her unique sounds and loving energy are perfectly captured in her sophisticated, haunting and healing musical creations.

Conscious Dream is a deliciously enthralling opening creation. A subtle, gently pulsating groove is graced with dub-inflected layers of hypnotic melodies and laced with vocal snippets that gel effortlessly to embrace a meditative journey towards a higher state of consciousness.

Eunoia (from Ancient Greek , literally meaning beautiful thinking) expands and develops these initial themes further. Tara establishes a more sophisticated percussive backbone in her trademark hypnotic style, adding snake-charming acidic motifs to excellent effect and showcasing wise words from Andrea Restivo (a distinguished Los Angeles-based yoga teacher and wellness advocate), expounding the essential joy of living a life full of love. This elegant and thought provoking package is completed with the even more dreamlike Deeper Into Eunoia.

Tara is a resident for Desert Hearts and Subtract Music in the USA and regularly warms up for John Digweed, including at his recent Output (NY) NYE show. She wows crowds at major festivals such as Rainbow Serpent Festival (AUS), SXM, Coachella, BPM, Envision (Costa Rica) and more, and continues to make a considerable impression on the global scene. With a steady flow of original productions and remixes appearing on the likes of Akbal, Kindisch, Balance Series and Exotic Refreshment, and with more surprises waiting in the wings to be unveiled soon, the future is most definitely filled with light.

Number eighteen on San Francisco’s Manjumasi showcases a pair of deep, groovy productions from the Miami-based Postrel brothers, m.O.N.R.O.E. + Adisyn. The title track “Acid Mating Call” is a deep, seductive tune with an absolutely hypnotic melody. Despite the soft and gentle tone, this one is irresistible on the dance floor. Next up is “Terminal Bliss,” which showcases the darker side of this duo’s sound, with a more melancholic groove punctuated by deep chords, with a mystical melody that floats off in the distance, alluring but just out of focus.

The first remix comes from UK veteran producer Martin Iveson aka Atjazz. His “Galaxy Aart Remix” of Terminal Bliss is an incredibly lush and ethereal take on the original. Galaxy describes the tone of this remix well, with a super spaced-out vibe and a wide soundfield that washes over the listener. Luscious percussion fills out the mix, with a simple but beautiful vocal hook anchoring the humanity of this mix.

Rounding out the package is a remix of Acid Mating Call from Ultrastation, the new techno collaboration between Cosmic Force and Nuno Dos Santos. Their remix puts the Acid in this Mating Call, a late-night techno stomper with swirling dubbed-out reverbs and delays layered over staccato synth stabs, and a trippy synth breakdown that breaks into pieces just before returning to a potent, powerful groove.
