Macy presents Mara Mia

Macy has recently released a new single titled "Mara Mia," which means "100 times" in Swahili. This love song is deeply personal and emotional, yet it also carries a lot of energy. The track stands out with a broad range of styles and influences, especially Afro-beat. The groove of the song has a vibrant syncopated feel, which helps shape the main melodies and the overall vibe.

However, contemporary electronic influences also shine through, particularly in the fresh production aesthetic and the crisp sounds of the synth. The single includes two versions: the original mix and a radio edit. The radio edit is slightly more condensed, but it’s just as catchy and dynamic. As we've come to expect from Macy's previous work, the production is top-notch and highly dynamic, with a steady punch and plenty of low-end that anchors the sound while providing depth and impact.

The lyrics are just as powerful and beautiful as the flow of the song. Macy wrote the lyrics in Italian, reflecting on loyalty and love. The song title is a reference to how he would pick that special person a hundred times if he could, highlighting the extreme love, loyalty, and devotion he feels. This time, Macy embraces a more specific sound direction, blending Afro-house style with African rhythms and sounds from around the world. This combination is particularly meaningful since the producer, based in Sicily, sees his music as a bridge connecting Africa to the rest of the world.
