I wrote this after watching “All Quiet on the Western Front”, a movie based on World War 1. A scene in particular stuck with me…Two opposing soldiers find themselves stuck in a foxhole, fighting to the death in a brutal sequence. Ultimately, the German soldier is victorious, although I wondered what the other soldier must’ve felt in his last moments. 

Inspired by the greats like Johnny Cash, Bill Withers, and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. 

The title track of the upcoming album; “Carpet Rot”. Releasing June 21st, 2025..

With every new relationship, whether romantic or platonic, an old one will inevitably resurface. They exist to pull you back to a version of yourself that they knew. Even if we've done the work to change, there's always the threat of reverting to a more fearful and agreeable state. 

Those that feel the most challenging to overcome are normally the ones we face in ourselves.

When the project "When Summer Comes" was released in 2019, the next chapter didn't seem so far away. The EP dropped, and life started to move fast up until 2020. Like everyone else, plans to perform and promote were put on hold.

I could have released more music, but I didn't...

Perfection plagued my thoughts with anything that I wrote. I relied heavily on outside circumstances to push forward, yet the power was always in my hands. This song was originally recorded in 2022, and knew its time would come when a new body of work was forming. 

This is a letter that's been held close for too long. I hope it will suffice.

This song deals with my Love/Hate relationship with loneliness. When I'm with somebody or with company, I end up missing the days of being on my own. When I actually arrive there, I realized that I've only romanticized the idea of being alone. Hence the line "it's only lust, It's Only Love".

A process that will never be perfected or reduced to science.

Whether we learn to accept it or not, the passage of time brings a new setting and perspective. 

When we find ourselves at a breaking point. Tracing back each step taken to get to where we are. It's easy to cling to the past and imagine what may have been. Yet, a force inside commands us to press on, even after our most challenging moments. To bend and twist the boundaries we set for ourselves.

Like a ray of warm sunlight that defies a cloud filled sky, this song gives me the triumphant feeling of hope. The bittersweet emotion of letting something go knowing it’s for the best. No matter what life throws at us from here on out, we’ll find the strength to survive and press on.

Like a broken hearted letter to a lost love, it’s not just for them. 

The end of any relationship comes with pain. However, it can also bring clarity to who we are and what we have become. 

Love and sacrifice walk hand in hand throughout each relationship we have in life. We pour ourselves into each moment, hoping the next one will be as good as the last. But when those feelings run dry, we forget what life was before and who we will be after. 

This song feels like searching for shelter on a cold and stormy night. Not knowing where to go or when the rain will stop. A moment of calm reflection in the storm’s eye, that will inevitably build into its final crescendo.
