A Dub Techno Journey is a compilation that traverses Dantes circles of Hell, transforming them into hypnotic and profound soundscapes. Each track represents a canto from Dantes Inferno, interpreted by producers from different parts of the world, united by a shared sensitivity for dub techno vibrations. The idea was conceived by Francesco Tamburrano, who envisioned a musical journey blending literature and sonic exploration, and took shape through the collaboration with the label Superordinate, always attentive to visionary projects with an international scope. The result is a dark and immersive path, where enveloping basslines and deep echoes guide the listener on a sonic pilgrimage through Dantes Inferno.

Dieser Track ist in den letzten Tagen entstanden – als persönliche Hommage an Chris Rea, dessen Musik für mich etwas Besonderes hatte. Nach der Nachricht von seinem Tod wollte ich versuchen, dieses ganz spezielle Gefühl seiner Songs einzufangen: diesen unaufgeregten, fließenden „Driving-Groove“, viel Raum für die Melodie und eine entspannte Melancholie.

Technisch ist das Ganze ein Experiment: Die Basis bildet ein kurzer Rhythmus-Schnipsel, den ich erstellt habe und dann Schicht für Schicht zu diesem Sound und  Song ausgebaut habe. Es geht nicht darum, ihn zu kopieren, sondern seinen Vibe ein wenig weiterzutragen.

Kaffee im Becher, der Blick auf die Straße und die Gedanken irgendwo im Rückspiegel.

English:

This track was created over the last few days – a personal homage to Chris Rea, whose music always meant something special to me. Following the news of his passing, I wanted to try and capture that very specific feeling of his songs: that effortless, fluid "driving groove," plenty of space for the melody, and a sense of relaxed melancholy.

Technically, the whole thing is an experiment: the foundation is a short rhythm snippet I created, which I then built up layer by layer into this sound and song. It’s not about copying him, but about carrying his vibe a little further.

Coffee in the cup, eyes on the road, and thoughts somewhere in the rearview mirror.

I also love all kinds of eclectic stuff including disco, boogie, Italo, synth pop, nu jazz, jazzdance, lounge, trip-hop, downtempo, dub, reggae, jungle, liquid drum & bass, IDM, electronica, Warp, Ninja Tune etc.

In summer 2013 I set up the Avenue Red (@avenue-red) imprint to push quality material from a wide plethora of DJs and artists who I have particular respect for in terms of their musical output, artistry and dedication to the cause.
