David Morales' original of 'Needin' U' was released in 1998 and retains its status as a seminal track in house music history. Then came The Face vs. Mark Brown's version, which was released first in 2009 also on Cr2 Records. Finally with the Parisian producer's remixing touch, 'Needin' U' is ready for 2018. It's out on Cr2 on May 25th.

One half of iconic British duo Basement Jaxx Felix Buxton and vocalist Gia make their Defected debut with the soul-stirring ‘So Hooked On Your Lovin’, alongside two groove-loaded remixes by Mousse T.. The first ever release under their Selace pseudonym, the record comes laden with lingering organ chords and stunningly raw vocals, echoing the stripped back quality of Switch’s ‘I Still Love You’ and with a similar deep-reaching feel to Massive Attack’s early 90s classic ‘Unfinished Sympathy’. Production maestro Mousse T. works his magic with his funk-drenched Disco Shizzle mix loaded with a pumping bassline and guitar riffs alongside a deeper Dubby Shizzle version laced with a spoken word hook. Less is more with Selace; this is a minimalist yet undeniably stunning record that lets its captivating song do all the work.

Nick Reach Up returns to Midnight Riot with ‘Dreaming’ his follow up to the chart smash ‘Night of my life’ (in that case with Full Intention) released earlier this year. Teaming up with writer & vocalist Jazz Morley once more it’s a slice of dancefloor goodness that is graced this time round with Glitterbox recording artists Qwestlife delivering the remix to the package. 2018 was some year for Nick Reach Up with festival highlights at Bestival, Eastern Electrics, Boardmasters, Festival No 6 and Bluedot. With their residency at South London Soul Train at London warehouse venue The Bussey Building and a steady flow of DJ bookings, it’s been non stop for the Reach Up crew. Highly qualified record label exec/artist manager Nick Halkes, having gained his reputation by founding both the XL Recordings and Positiva labels once again proves he also has the midas touch for nu disco anthems. ‘Dreaming’ is just that, an irresistible scorcher that will tear apart any saturday dance floor with Jazz’s excellent vocals and sparkling 80’s hooks making this a killer authentic modern day production.

Moloko | Sing It Back (Andrew Emil Dreamix)

For this Dreamix, I put together a classic from an all-time favorite artist, Róisín Murphy. 

Written and performed by Murphy and English bassist Mark Brydon—from Chakk and Cloud Nine—this song was recorded under the name Moloko. 

Released as a single in 1999 off Moloko's second album, I Am Not a Doctor, “Sing It Back” peaked at #4 in the UK after it was given the remix treatment from the hit factory of Boris Dlugosch at Peppermint Jam. 

Inspired during her time in New York City, Murphy later co-wrote and appeared on Boris Dlugosch's "Never Enough" single as a trade for his remix work that took this song to new heights. 

I remade this one with the standard orchestrations of late 90s house music, including live electric bass, guitar, and a mixture of Fender Rhodes, electric pianos and Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 pads, and @eventideaudio modulation and reverberation.

I find joy in collecting what I call true gems of music, I'm a music enthusiast who seeks to share tunes and rhythms that are not easy to find... I like pretty much all kinds of genres as long as there was creativity and boldness in the sounds created. 

I could not consider myself a DJ, as I cannot do any tricks and I can barely match BPM :-) however I really like putting sets together depending on my mood and I never plan the song I will play, I like to enjoy the journey of blending songs together, if I like the final result then I share
