This playlist contains a collection of the oldest, earliest and mostly poorly produced tracks I created under my first alias: "Aleks" many years ago.

Before and during those times, I was active as a DJ and a member of Hinterstüberl Rec. After a few years of casual DJing, I've decided to explore every aspect of music. This quest started my musical journey and continues to fuel it to this day.

Leute suchen nach dem Sinn in meinen Texten, 
ich konnte bisher auch selbst leider keinen entdecken, 
doch in hab’ jemanden beauftragt und losgeschickt - 
aber irgendwie meldet sich dieser Kolumbus nicht. 
Nur Geduld! Obwohl: ’n paar Jahre sind’s jetzt.

THE FUNK (prod. by Edgar Wasser)

ATTENTION: This is an unfinished, unmixed project I initially uploaded to receive feedback, but it somehow ended up kick-starting a new chapter of my musical journey. 

"Flammenritt" is a hard-hitting, driving but melodic Techno track with influences from UK House & Garage as well as old-school Techno and modern Tech House. 
The foundation of the song consists of a pounding kick drum, which pulse gets accentuated by a raw-sounding, analog bassline. Starting as a groovy but driving bass rhythm, the synth starts to evolve its rhythmical and textural structure according to the feelings and energy the story needs at any given time. 
Those changes happen over the course of the track in conjunction with the occurrence of the tonal and atonal story elements in the form of various modulated pads, plucks and lead synth patches. With every new chapter, the bassline's rhythmical variations carefully but urgently guide the listener through whatever may come - when suddenly everything gets violently swirled and twisted around itself, until time and space become meaningless terms...

(Mostly finished arrangement, but I will maybe add stuff. Partially unfinished sound processing. Only roughly mixed by changing volume balances, panning, EQing and some compression.)

The kind of track that will fill you with energy, lets you jump up and start dancing even after 48 hours of nonstop raving.

An homage to Leonard Cohens "You Want It Darker" as a slow, atmospheric and ominous Tech-House Remix.

The original song was written shortly before Mr. Cohens death. The lyrics were his last words to the god he prayed to his whole life. A god who were supposed to be omnipresent and omnipotent and loving, but never answered Cohen's prayers for help. Through his lyrics, it becomes apparent that he made his judgment through suffering. 

"A Million Candles Burning For The Help That Never Came..."

I tried to capture the feeling of the original song to the best of my ability.

A warm and atmospherically dense Techno track with an ominous sustained chord progression which is present throughout the song and gets played by modulated analog basses, pads and leads. 

Modulated noise samples and harmonically accentuating vocal drones are providing movement, texture and emotionally engaging harmonies. 

Once the sampled main instrument breaks through the dense and heavy analog fog with a contrasting bright and clear tonality, Calypso's love and hope can be heard. But sometimes neither love nor hope is enough.

I won't change the cover of "Tunnels", since this track is extremely important to me on many personal levels.

I'll never forget the creation. Two musicians DJing and producing for hours on end until our sense of time was lost and irrelevant. The only thing important was to completely lose ourselves in music. Nothing was relevant but the groove we were feeling at every moment - we were truly in our tunnels.

Since then, I call an intense flow state while producing "being back in the Tunnels".

Detektiv Edgar - ich untersuch' den Tatort
mit einer Pfeife zwischen den Mundwinkeln und Handschuhen,
um die Beweisstücke nicht zu beschädigen;
eine Lupe in der Hand, um alles genauer sehen zu können.
So betrachte ich die Leiche und protokolliere:
Eine weibliche Person, blond, vielleicht Anfang 40,
erdrosselt mit dem Kabel vom Telefon.
Streifenwagen parken in der Straße, in der sie wohnt.
Polizisten befragen die Nachbarn und suchen
nach Fingerabdrücken - finden keinerlei Spuren.
Keiner hat den Täter gesehen, keiner hat was gehört...
Ich laufe durch das Treppenhaus der Wohnung als ich dann bemerk',
dass mir ein Typ folgt, gekleidet im schwarzen Jackett,
doch als ich mich umdrehe, ist er wieder weg.
Ich steige in den Dienstwagen. Fahre gerade zur Zentrale -
da seh' ich den Typen rennen auf der anderen Straßenseite!


Detektiv Edgar - ich kläre jeden Mord auf;
der Typ ist ohne Zweifel der Täter, ich geb' mein Wort drauf!
Er sitzt im Verhörzimmer: Handschellen an den Gelenken,
Wasserglas, Kassettenrekorder, 'ne Schachtel Zigaretten
auf dem Tisch in der Mitte vom Raum.
Wir sitzen uns gegenüber - ich seh' die Angst in seinen Augen!
Die Stirn voller Schweißperlen, er plädiert auf Unschuld,
doch zwölf Stunden später ist es mit meiner Geduld um!
Ich drück' die Zigarette auf seinem Brustkorb aus,
schmerzverzerrte Schreie erfüllen den dunklen Raum.
Ich sag' ihm, es sei besser, wenn er jetzt gesteht,
weil der Richter vielleicht denkt, er habe die Schuld eingesehen...
Mit Tränen in den Augen beichtet er dann seine Tat,
ich verlasse die Zentrale, laufe rüber zu meinem Wagen,
fahr' durch die Stadt bei Sonnenaufgang
und suche mir die nächste blonde Frau, die ich erdrosseln kann...
