Industrial Light Records presents Danny Son with his debut EP "We Speak Fluently". All 4 tracks represent a hypnotic percussive experience that closely adheres to the tradition of underground dance music. 
The first track, "Boarding Completed" is a straightforward drum and percussion-based track dedicated to the roots of house dance culture. The journey continues with "Central Bank District" a cool-down jazzy cut tailored for a headphone listening experience while with "Orbitale Bewegungen" we delve deeper into its liquid synths and groovy bassline, which surely brings joy to your after-hours. The label boss himself Aleqs Notal honored us with a remix of "Boarding Completed" and added the finishing touch with additional Chicago House influence.

Been a minute I did one of these, but lately I find myself goin' back often to that late 90's Ummah sound, and one of the MC's very much in the midst of it was this man called Consequence.

A full cousin of Q-Tip, he made his 1st splash on the flip of Tribe's '93 "Award Tour" single, and 3 years later had a lot of cameo's as well on the "Beats, Rhymes & Life" album, but when his own debut album was due in '97/'98 -reportedly titled "Hostile Takeover"-, it somehow didn't take off.

Fast forward a few years, Cons signed with Kanye's "GOOD Music" imprint, and finally released his official debut "Don't Quit Your Day Job!" in 2007.
But although a solid outing, and with good reviews to boot, it didn't shift the (likely) anticipated numbers for an artist signed to a label by a boss, who at that point in time was becoming one of the largest in the game.

So Cons went back to his grind, kept putting in the work, dropped a series of mixtapes over the years, as well as steadily stream of singles, and guested also on various songs for Tribe's 2016 swansong "We Got It From Here...".

Since a lot of Cons' material is so scattered (and in most cases hard to find on streaming services too), I assembled & sequenced all the tunes I dig, starting with most of the stuff made for his shelved late 90's debut (which covers 1/3rd of the tracklist on this), added some singles from over the years, a few choice cuts from his mixtapes + some cameo verses as well, only to round it all up with his very 1st appearance from 1993 (which serves as an intro here), in an effort to kinda create a version of his shelved debut album.

Consequence reportedly is in the final stages of finishing up his sophomore LP called "Nice Doing Business With You", and if you like his stuff, this'll probably hold you over for a sec.

Moreover, if you're a fan of that 'snappy' late 90's Dilla/Tip/ Ummah/Soulquarians type of sound, this certainly is your thang.

Consequence - "The Consequences"

Exciting things are happening as UK-producer Drum Dance launches his new label, ‘Into The Cosmos’, with a standout four-track release that showcases his eclectic taste and production skills. Among the tracks is the captivating "Venus Dub 2", a must-hear for fans of dub, jazz, and Balearic sounds.

"Venus Dub 2" is an 80s jazz Balearic-inspired track that takes a journey to Kingston for a bass-heavy dub makeover. The resulting track is a lush, atmospheric track with irresistible grooves. Drum Dance's production shines as he expertly balances influences to create a track that's both relaxing and propulsive, making it a perfect addition to any summer playlist.

As for the rest of the EP, the release kicks off with "Zani!", a cosmic head-nodder influenced by both Chicago footwork and Malian music, paying homage to the legendary Zani Diabaté. Following this is "Body Heat", a Latin-flavored boogie number that keeps the energy high with its four-to-the-floor beat, sultry disco vocals, and jazzy keys.

Closing the release is "Adan On Dòt Soley", a personal dedication to the beautiful island of Gwadloup. This track begins with spaced-out synths and evolves into a dubby percussive jam, featuring the enchanting Fender Rhodes keys recorded by Andy Wileman. Field recordings of birds singing, waves lapping, and the sounds of gwo ka drumming on the beach bring the listener to a serene and soulful conclusion.

The EP is released this Friday, on vinyl, pressed by Vinyl Factory and digital. Available directly via Bandcamp, plus Juno, Phonica, Redeye Records, Clone, HHV, Deejay.de, and so on.

Scottish-Spanish producer Liam Garcia makes his debut on Voodoo & Prayers with All About The Groove EP.

The title track, All About The Groove, is built for the floor—driving bassline, hypnotic rhythm, and darker tones carrying the weight of a true club cut. On the flip, Always Her Future leans into Indie Dance, fusing nostalgic disco textures with a bittersweet, late-night mood.
