Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Alessandro Devillart lives in Portugal since 1988.
He started his training as a piano player but soon understood that drums would become his passion for life. He attended the School of Jazz and Modern Music in Seixal being coached by drummers like Paulo Bandeira and João Luís Lobo. Works as a freelancer for 15 years, participating in projects like Flamenco, Blues, Punk, Soul, Progressive, Rock or Pop. Founding member of Grooveland (soul, funk, rock n’ roll), The Crazy Diamonds (Pink Floyd tribute), Felattio (rock, pop), Sign (experimental, theatrical) and more recently, The Cinnamon Band, where he was also music director. Also joined and played with artists such as Charlie & the Bluescats, Marco Alonso Group, Sandra Fidalgo, Teresa Gabriel, Yahya Abdul-Majid (Sun-Ra Arkestra), Paulo Brissos, Ana Figueiredo, Orlanda Guilande, Johnny & The Reptiles, Dêsso Blues Band, Da Bélio-c, Carlos Curto, Nicotine Orquestra, Tiago Machado, Fast Eddie Nelson, Monogono and many others.

Alessandro is also a sound technician and music producer responsible for recording and producing many local bands such as Porn Sheep Hospital, Samuel Trezor BC, Monogono, Marco Alonso Group, Guilande, Lobo, Nocturnal Reveries, TAUI, The Yellow dog Blues Band, Felattio, Charlie & the Blues Cats, The Wilducks, AX-Cromado, and Ana Figueiredo,
