MCSL027 - Cristior - Deshoda EP with Petar Dundov &amp; Guy J remixes. Beatport Exclusive Oct. 29th 2012

The 27th release on microCastle sees the debut of Irish techno producer Cristior to the label. Cristior is fast establishing himself as a leading force in electronic music carving out a niche with his unique take on modern techno music consisting of sophisticated grooves layered with futuristic melodies. He has held a residency now for over 3 years at Irelands biggest and longest running nightclub, Lush in Portrush! Cristior's first EP for microCastle is entitled 'Deshoda' and it comes with two brand new original productions and remixes from: Petar Dundov and Guy J.

The title cut 'Deshoda' leads the EP of with piercing electronics and a punishing acidic groove that's rooted with a warm chord changing wall of sub bass. Fluttering melodic lines and driving drums build momentous energy towards the drop. Here a funky new lead with timeless techno sensibilities and a long tension filled build results in a massive crescendo that should provide an amazing dance floor reaction. Surely one of Cristior's best and genre bending productions to date.

The lone remix of 'Deshoda' comes from Petar Dundov who is returning to microCastle for his second appearance following his remix of Spooky 'Polymorph' from October of 2011. Petar makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaeno and Guy J singing his praises it would be hard to disagree. For his 'Deshoda' interpretation Petar has delivered another poignant, slow building techno remix that comes with haunting melodies, subtle atmospheric accents and a relentless acid groove that's perfect for the dance floor.

The second original on the package 'Crystals' (a tune we first heard Paul from Psycatron playing on his BBC Radio Ulster show comes with a tough techno groove and a unique flair with an undeniable dance floor energy. The main melodic theme has to be one of the coolest leads we've heard all year. A charming blend of cascading piano keys that have been processed to perfection with a shimmering, glassy sheen and stunning hypnotic flow. The waves of mesmerising melodic energy build through two sections of the composition with the later being a monumental breakdown that should light up even the most discerning dance floors.

The lone remix of 'Crystals' is provided by Guy J who is returning to microCastle for his second appearance following his remix of 16 Bit Lolitas 'Personal Space' from July of 2011. Guy has been having another incredible year with the launch of his Lost &amp; Found imprint and remixes of the prog house classics Circulation 'Turquoise', Gill Norris 'Forme' and Andy Ling's 'Fixation'. Guy has completely overhauled 'Crystals' and presented several new melodic themes with some clever sequences of warm, well textured tones and waves of dance floor shaking bass stabs. Certainly one of Guy's most unique compositions this year and with support already in from Hernan Cattaneo you know it's one not to be missed!

For me music is all about emotions. Without them, music would be useless. Therefore I like being able to capture the moment and incorporate it into my track or set that i'm working on. Using it as an outlet. No compromises, no obligations.. just honest emotions.

Martijn van Dijk better known as Alessandro Diga, is a dutch artist living in Breda. His music can be characterized as pigheaded, innovative, bold, vivacious, but most of all melodic. In the past years Diga produced music in different directions, but always melody predominated.

This enabled him to release tracks on labels such as: Manual Music, Inlab Recordings, Perspectives &amp; Cinematique. Which resulted in arrived artists like Nuno dos Santos, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Roland M. Dill, Pig &amp; Dan, Hernan Cattaneo, Laurent Garnier &amp; Moonbeam playing his tracks.

Throughout the years, Alessandro Diga gained a lot of musical experience. Starting with playing the trumpet and the bugle, on a very young age. In his early teens he mastered the guitar and played in a (punk)band. After these musical wanderings, he got sucked into the electronic music scene.

Being towed by his brothers, Alessandro Diga visited a wide range of festivals in the summer of 2007. Which resulted in developing a deep passion for electronic music. After years of hard work and solitary confiment, the reward consisted of releases on various labels and being featured on various compilations.

His first EP named 'Meltdown' (2010), was released by Outside the Box Music. A dutch label by Eelke Kleijn. He received a lot of support by well known artists. The title track made it to the beatport top 100, and was played in 538 Dance Department. In 2011 Alessandro Diga participated in 'De grote prijs van Nederland', and made it to the semi-finals. Not winning this competition encouraged him even more to improve his productions and live-sets.

Diga's releases did not go unnoticed, and gave him the opportunity to play at clubs and festivals. Examples are; Sysophos (Berlin DE), Barkode (Amsterdam NL), Westerunie (Amsterdam NL), Lakedance (Aquebest NL), Fort de Vechten (Bunnik NL), Club Poema (Utrecht NL).
