Рух (Ukr. – [Rukh] – Movement) is a compilation series launched during the war in Ukraine and released by Kyiv-based label and promoter Worn Pop. All proceeds from this compilation will be donated to the ‘Musicians Defend Ukraine’ fund that helps Ukrainian artists on the frontline. 

From the beginning Worn Pop has established itself as Kyiv’s post-punk influenced formation, booking artists like Boy Harsher, Lebanon Hanover, The Soft Moon and in the same time promoting new Ukrainian acts. The label came to the party scene launching Black! Factory Festival together with Closer Club and since then has expanded its’ borders to regular club nights at Closer and other venues featuring dark and obscure dance music, inviting La Mverte, Kris Baha, Curses and more artists from similar movements. 

All the artists on this compilation built the actual character of Worn Pop by playing at our events. Now they join the very first release in a series that contains 10 tracks exclusively produced by them and thoughtfully folded into one story which can be listened from the beginning to an end as a solid album. 

Among the International names featured, there are Ukrainian acts coming, such as Geuxx, Hungry Boys, Ship Her Son and Aircraft. Their tracks here are written during the full-scale russian war against Ukraine which still goes on.

The mix is composed of recordings from the Internet audio environment, using a laptop, hopping from site to site, and surfing YouTube. Almost in live mode, with minimal post-editing and effects. Made in Odessa in the summer of 2022 to the sound of air raid sirens, shaheeds drones, and bombings" - 05:AM.

This is the versatile personal story, where the main character experiences all sharp, pleasant, questionable, extraterrestrial, painful and naive sides of love and human communication. There is a great journey of learning how to perceive your feelings, accept inner heart pain, that tears you all up, overcome grievance and anger turning these emotions into gratitude and unconditional love.

Разносторонняя личная история, где главная героиня переживает острые, приятные, сомнительные, болезненно-наивные стороны любви и человеческого общения. Пройдя долгий и местами мучительный путь она научилась воспринимать свои чувства, принимать внутреннюю боль, которая разрывала изнутри настолько сильно, что казалось ей уже не противостоять, преодолевать обиду и злость, превращая эти эмоции в благодарность и безусловную любовь. 
Живое и уязвимое.

Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician, producer, composer, and instrument builder. 

Cortini is one of the foremost figures of contemporary electronic music, best known for his haunting, atmospheric work. Alongside being a longstanding member of Nine Inch Nails, he is highly prolific and has released a steady stream of his own heady music on luminary labels including Mute, Hospital, and Important Records for the past decade. Throughout his shadowy rise to fame, he has collaborated with the likes of Lawrence English, Daniel Avery and Merzbow (to name a few). Balancing dark ambience with smokey, pulsing rhythms, his compositions are perfectly restrained, textured and mesmeric. 

Cortini was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 through his work with Nine Inch Nails, making history as the only Italian musician to have ever been honored with this recognition. 

In 2021, in collaboration with boutique synth builders Make Noise, Cortini released his own, custom-designed, semi-modular synth, “Strega” (Italian for ‘witch’). That same year, he used Strega to build his latest full length, Scuro Chiaro [Mute], which Pitchfork described as “pitched somewhere between purgatory and the planetarium ... consistently managing to thrill and surprise”. 

In addition to years of extensive worldwide touring, Cortini has also soundtracked fashion shows including Alexander McQueen, Dior, and several of Fendi’s presentations. In 2022, he exhibited a high-concept audio installation called “Nati Infiniti” for Sonar 2022 at Museu de Lisboa’s “Fábrica de Moagem.” A live version of “Nati Infiniti” is set to debut at Berlin Atonal in 2023.

Alessandro Cortini’s music has been licensed for use in television, film and documentaries, games, and commercials, including FX’s hit show The Bear, “Thank You Very Much” a documentary about Andy Kaufman, Samsung, BMW, Sony, and Netflix. Remixes have also been a part of Cortini’s identity – remixing the likes of Depeche Mode to Mogwai to Death Cab For Cutie, Yann Tiersen to Vatican Shadow, and more between and beyond.
