This is the spot in the Last Emperor where Pu Yi's secondary consort walks out into the rain and...never comes back.

The servant gives her an umbrella for the rain and she politely accepts, but a few paces later says she does not need it.  Whether out of gladness to be free, or having gone a little mad, we are left to interpret.

This short sequence is modeled after the in-movie cut with the connecting glissando to change keys in the middle, not the much longer soundtrack version.

Alessio Crimi, born in 1988 in Leonforte, Sicily, is a DJ and techno music producer who has been active in the electronic music scene since the early 2000s. Known for his distinctive sound, Alessio describes himself as a "bridge between techno and electronic music," blending deep, hypnotic techno with various electronic influences to create a unique musical experience.
In the early stages of his career, Alessio became a prominent figure in Sicily’s nightlife scene, holding long-running residencies at iconic venues like “Tam Tam Disco” and “Murphis”. He also performed as a guest DJ at numerous clubs across the island, earning a reputation for his skillful sets and deep understanding of the techno genre.
After years of successful production and performances, Alessio took a break from the music scene. However, in 2023, he made his return to music production. Relocating to Grisignano di Zocco in northern Italy, Alessio reignited his passion for creating music, blending his foundational techno roots with a fresh, modern approach.
With his return, Alessio Crimi is poised to reclaim his place as one of Italy’s respected techno producers, continuing to evolve his sound while maintaining his unique perspective on electronic music.
