Gianni Callipari is the Swiss born DJ and producer who has been bubbling under for some time now, crafting his skills, both in the studio and in the clubs, for the past few years.  A crucial member of the Nordstern team (the hi-spec and highly popular 400 capacity nightclub in Basel, Switzerland), Gianni has played alongside a who’s who of DJ talent, from Carl Cox to Seth Troxler, Dixon to DJ Sneak, and of course with Luciano, the Cadenza ambassador.

It is this relationship with Luciano that brings Gianni to Cadenza, not just as an artist, but now also as a DJ (now on the Aether Artists roster alongside many Cadenza stable mates).

The ‘Modular’ EP is technically Gianni’s debut release (save for a track included on Nic Fanciulli’s Balance 021 mix compilation in 2012).  And it’s a confident and assured debut release on Cadenza.  Title track ‘Modular’ is steady in pace, and hypnotically uplifting in melody, without ever resorting to clichés.  Subtle touches to the hi-hats and percussive patterns keep the deep groove locked in whilst the synth work wraps around your head and doesn’t shift.  A track already road tested many times this year already, we know this cut has the power to lose a few minds whilst keeping the feet firmly moving.

‘Girls On Acid’ is less heady, going for a playful loose beat and choppy vocals.  Subtle synth sweeps pick up the energy throughout on this simple, yet effective, percussive club cut.  Wrapping up the release if ‘Boogie Curls’, a skanking and bass shaking track that builds nicely, again without ever over cooking the elements, a great mood piece to sign off with.

I sampled the original vinyl and then tried taking out Nile Rodgers's guitar and replacing it with a piano riff of my own, some horns and a mini moog, let me know if that worked 🪩

Finley's knowledge of audio and passion for the underground can be heard throughout his productions and distinctly felt on the dance floor.

During his experience as half of Low Tide, Finley experimented with the dark side of deep house, which has played a role his evolution as a dj/producer. The project released on Dilate Records, Motek, RIS Lab, Inside Out Records, and NOSI Music to name a few. Working with and remixing for artists such as Miguel Puente, Dance Spirit, Namito, Kosmas, Jonny Cruz, Silky and others.

Finley’s roots and love for the dance floor pushed him forward to solo endeavors. With, non-stop work in the studio his output has led to recent releases on Stefan Z’s label Rhombus, Silky’s label Faceless, Superfreq, and Sullivan Room Records, with many more in the process including Touch of Class, Cenote, and more.

As 2015 saw Finley at gigs across North America including festival performances at BPM, WMC, Movement, and venues such as Treehouse - Miami, Whiskey Disco - Detroit, Rise - Boston, The Standard - LA, Hyde Park - Tampa, be sure to keep your ears tuned for this rising talent as he leads us through the new year and beyond.

Test Tone , aka Mark Fanciulli and Zoo Brazil, have unveiled their brand new two-track EP,
consisting of productions ‘Take Your Time’, and the EP-titled ‘ East End .’

The release, scheduled for 30th March, is set to drop on Berlin based Mobilee Records, acting
as the label’s 199th release. The track follows Test Tone’s 2017 release ‘Concorde’ on Saved,
which received a flurry of support from some of the biggest names in the scene, including Sasha
and John Digweed.

Having propelled themselves into the upper echelons of underground production, Test Tone’s
‘East End’ is an atmospheric and high-powered release which serves as a stark contrast against
the dark stabs of the more rasping ‘Take Your Time.’
Produced in Zoo Brazil’s Stockholm studio, the ‘East End’ EP serves as a raw cut laced with
Mark’s penchant for percussion, and precedes their summer follow up, which will arrive via Joris
Voorn’s ‘Green’ imprint.

Test Tone’s ‘East End EP’ is set for release on 30th March.

Dortmund label Kittball enlist German based artists Chris Di Perri & Domenic D’Agnelli who deliver their ‘Bulldozer’ EP featuring a remix from ViVA MUSiC duo Anek.

Hailing from Cologne, Chris Di Perri made his debut appearance as a DJ at Berlin’s Solar nightclub at just seventeen, the venue he would later hold a residency in. He now shares the stage with artists like Sven Väth, Format:B and Kittball bosses Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora across various German venues. Di Perri’s productions have been released on Deer Deer, Upon You, not to mention CusCus Music where he and Italian artist Domenic D’Agnelli first collaborated. D’Agnelli is hailed as one of the key cogs in the early 90s Munich and Frankfurt club scene, organising parties, and performing at the likes of Pulverturm, Ultraschall, The Box, in addition to his residency at Flokati.

‘Bulldozer’ offers up distant vocals on a rolling sub that build up into a dark damaging bass and steady beat, before ‘Bullis Little Bro’ delivers staccato bass stabs amidst a catchy synth riff and clinical percussion. Then Danish female duo Anek, who’ve appeared on Moon Harbour, Gruuv and Oblack, remix ‘Bulldozer’, offering an infectious hi-hat and snare, enveloping bass and flanging atmospherics.

The third release on Steve Bug’s new Sublease Music continues to achieve the heights of the previous two. 
This time it’s the turn of buraq - the DJ and producer from Zurich, who has been blowing up via releases on Cyclic Records, Bondage Music, Flash Recordings, Sirion Records and Stil vor Talent. 
„I discovered buraq while digging for music and started playing more and more of his stuff. A while later I played in Zurich. There we finally met in person. Afterwards, buraq sent me some top notch demos. Those were one of these tracks I definitely wanted to release but didn’t fit on Poker Flat 100%. Buraq’s EP gave me another push into launching Sublease Music. It feels great to finally reveal this one, too!“ so Steve. 
Here he drops two bumping, deep and raw house jams, ready to get feet moving and bodies swaying. 
Care has snappy, tight drums and an infectious vocal loop, while Anymore is a deep bomb, building and building the energy yet remaining minimal in its instrumentation.
