Zacchaeus was a little man rejected by the people
His heart was full of greed and his life was full of evil
He went home to home he was working for the Romans
Stacking his money while his people went homeless
When he came around everybody locked the door
Zacchaeus wasn’t welcome ‘cause he always wanted more	
He thought he’d measure up grabbing power and wealth
But when everybody hates you, you’ve robbed yourself 

But that’s when Jesus came walking down the street
And saw Zacchaeus in a sycamore tree
Zacchaeus couldn’t reach Him so Jesus went to him
Then he called his name like he already knew him
Man Zacchaeus couldn’t take it when he heard his own name
Cuz this time the voice that called was unashamed
No trace of hate, it was love, it was grace
Dang it felt good just to see a warm face	

Then Jesus went with Zacchaeus into his home
For so many years he’d been eating alone
The people all scoffed when they heard of their dinner	
Didn’t Jesus know this little man was a sinner?
But as they sat at the table his heart began to grow
This love and acceptance was more than he had known
And Zacchaeus saw that all his riches were nothing
Compared to the richness of knowing God loves him

I need you Jesus to show me your love
