Toshiya Tsunoda (b. 1964, Kanagawa, Japan) received his MFA from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. From 1994-2006 he ran a label for experimental artwork with Atsushi Tominaga, Hiroyuki Iida, Jio Shimizu, and m/s. Since 2008 he has collaborated with Luke Fowler, exhibiting work at the Yokohama Triennale 2008; Serpentine Gallery, London; Galerie Gisela Capitain, Cologne, Germany; Bielefelder Kunstverein, Germany; and Inverleith House, Edinburgh. Selected recent exhibitions and performances include SIMPLE INTERACTIONS, SOUND ART FROM JAPAN, Museet For Samtids Kunst, Denmark, 2012; DISPLACED SOUNDS, Stuk Arts Centre Leuven, Belgium, 2010; and 21:100:100 One Hundred Sound Works by 100 Artists from the 21st Century, Gertrude Contemporary Art Space, Australia, 2008. He currently lives and works in Yokohama.
