Release text: The next release on Manual Music welcomes Alex Preda back to the label for his debut EP. The Romanian born (now Netherlands based) artist has found a home on the Paul Hazendonk directed imprint, having contributed three original productions to the labels hugely popular 'Manualism' and 'Movement' compilation series after having released numerous singles on Manual’s little sister label MNL with big success. Alex has enjoyed a great summer, in addition to productions on Cinematique and Stripped Recording, he was chosen to showcase his DJ skills at the CantaCuzino Frequencies event in Romania alongside Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, My Favorite Robot and many others. Now Alex steps up to deliver his first ever EP for Manual Music alongside remixes from Paul Hazendonk and Arnas D.

"Our first release of 2019 is a fact - delivered by the very talented Romanian artist “Alex Preda”  After his EP with Olivier Weiter, he returns to the label with two stunning originals, complemented with remixes from Tom Zeta and MOHN. 

The title track ‘Heartbeat’ is is a slow burner, gently building up into a melodic dive, progressing into the main drop which marks the epicness of the track. Surely meant for the dance-floor peak times, just the way we like it! 

‘Enveloping’ is a track which is meant to absorb the listener into a deep and mysterious trip. With trills made to
keep your mind wandering and driving with the groove, this tune is uniquely crafted with Alex’s artistic flair.  

MOHN, which is also familiar name on the label, stripped down “Enveloping”, focused more on the groove and drive of the original track. With his remix of “Heartbeat”, the very talented Tom Zeta (Dynamic) makes his debut on the label with a very hypnotic, yet powerful approach.

Pushing out into the night with two smouldering records, the fifth instalment of the Nocturnal series promotes the sound of Eelke Kleijn's DAYS like NIGHTS label in its most captivating form. From the cascading melodies and velvet vocal cuts in Alex Preda's 'Staying Here' to the dwelling grooves and deep-digging arpeggios in Steve Kennedy's 'Bermuda', 'Nocturnal 005' offers up a soundscape that thrives in dimmed light and smoky clubs.

Having already released two highly respected and well received VA’s, Fur Coat’s Oddity returns with “Odd Echoes Vol.3”. The most comprehensive offering to date, the VA features twenty original tracks from artists already synonymous with the label, as well as some new and exciting talent.

Fur Coat’s continued dedication to their label has resulted in a rapidly growing catalogue of anticipated releases. By focussing on unearthing emerging artists within the scene whilst putting forward their own sound and that of
established figures, the imprint has continued to go from strength to strength.

Throughout the package, we are greeted with what we have come to know and love from Oddity. Twenty original tracks, mostly from first timers on the label, which span a real breath of melodic techno sounds. It seems that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and the VA is compiled in a way that really takes you on a journey. In the earlier stages artists highlight a more down tempo and reserved sound easing us into the work. Approaching the mid section of the release we start to see the artists focusing on tracks that are more driving, with a faster pace, clearly aimed for club use.

Rounding off the VA, tracks are characterised with faster beats, atmospheric builds and enlightening moments to create records that any dance floor will be hungry for. All in all it's an impressive VA, both in the size of the contributions, but also in the array of sounds explored by all involved.

Welcome Alex Preda Einmusika. The Amsterdam based producer comes up with a melodic and dreamy EP for the summer. "Mind Program" is groovy and has a lot of playful lead melodies next to deep pads. "Before Sunrise" starts exciting and mysterious and then opens up some wonderful 80's textures. "After Midnight" is more functional and works perfect for groovy set's on a sunny afternoon.

Alex Preda is a Romanian DJ and producer based in Amsterdam. His love for dance music began in the 1990s, with favorites like disco and dance- pop. In 2007, he moved to the Netherlands, where his sound evolved from the electronic sounds of Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis to his signature driving techno, always with an element of warmth and melody.

Preda has released music on renowned labels such as Days Like Nights, Atlant, Rukus, Oddity, Infinite Depth, and Bedrock.

He has gained strong support throughout the industry, including from Pete Tong, Sasha, John Digweed, Fur Coat, Eelke Kleijn, Beswerda, Matador, BOg & Adriatique.
