Master Sarge

A Remix of an Atari YM2149F Chiptune by !Cube.

I kept the remix close to the original melody and chord progression, because that's what the song is about.

For anyone interested in the production side of the song:

Produced and mixed 100% in Propellerhead aka ReasonStudio Reason.
Main SID/synth lead and bass lines are created with the Thor synthesizer.

Toni aka !Cube kindly provided me with the original and unzipped SND file so I could load it into the STEEM emulated instance of the MaxYMiser tracker.

From there, I meticulously transferred note for note into the Reason sequencer.
The challenge was to get the portamento/legato and vibrato right in the lead melody.

Hyperbased 2015

Originally featured in Vectronix's fantasy cracktro for Grand Theft Auto VI. This version is a slightly more extended version of the tune since the original was a bit on the short side.

Derivation of cleam (WIP)

A Comeback Tracker cover of the classic "Prehistorik Tale" song from Jochen Hippel. I used Jogeirs excellent Protracker cover as starting point and transformed it into a 'no samples' version with mostly arpeggios instead of chords (beside the intro).

I think this is my favorite SID, which probably has to do with hearing moog's fantastic version before the original.

Tristesse

Taking a journey to Vega, a star in the Lyra constellation - obviously a hypothetical and fictitious thing, but just wanted something cool and fitting for the track. Tried to make a little narrative about the trip, but they don't really have all the happy and proper clips I want at VideoBlocks. So use your imagination here and there. ^_^

It was originally intended for The 8-Bit Guy as a backing track for his videos, but grew and took a life of its own, so here it is in all its glory!
