From parties at remote places like Uluru, beach bars in Bali to being invited to DJ at a private party for Madonna during her “Girlie Show” tour of Australia and playing at the pre-gig U2 cocktail parties in Sydney and most recently supporting the legendary Grace Jones on her ‘Hurricane’ tour of Australia. Alex Taylor has built a huge reputation.

Internationally, Alex has headlined at clubs & parties in Singapore, KL, London, Brighton, Cologne, L.A. San Francisco, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, Macau, Bali, and Bangkok and annually spends the summer season on the island-clubbing destination of Ibiza, DJ’ing for “We Love Space Sundays” at the world-renowned super-club Space, playing alongside the world’s top name DJ’s.

As far as awards go, Taylor has earned many. He was named best DJ at the Sydney DIVA awards so many times (five) that he eventually pleaded for people to vote for someone else. Also appearing in the inaugural Inthemix Top 50 Australian DJ’s several times.

He has supported and headlined with almost every major DJ - names such as, Miguel Migs, Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, Satoshie Tomiie, Tiesto, The Freemasons, Mark Doyle, Sasha, John Digweed, Basement Jaxx, Jon Sa Trinxa, Sandy Rivera, Paul Oakenfold, Frankie Knuckles, Tom Novy, DJ Sneak, Smokin’ Jo, Ben Watt, Laurent Garnier, Kaskade, Masters At Work, Chris Lake, Groove Armada, Miss Kitten, Hernan Cattaneo, Seamus Haji, Danny Verde, Victor Calderone 2Many DJs, Funkagenda and many more.

I had the privilege of DJing the 25th Lazy Bear Pool Party at the West Sonoma Inn on Saturday. It was an amazing sunny day full of hot sexy bears.

This is a live recording of my 6 hour set. 

Sadly I did not push record into a ways into my set. Also, there are few places that I had to edit out where the security guard was asking some person or another to move their vehicle. I *think* I got them all. If not please mark the track with a comment.

The many street-level entrances to Le Stud give the bears, the dads and the lads easy access to the decadence that awaits them inside. Billiard tables and video-game poker machines line the interior of Le Stud and provide opportunities (or at least a cover) for what goes on further inside. Start on the cruisey dancefloor. Then position yourself in a dark corner and let the fun begin. Musical styles range from dance and disco to new wave and rock, but after a while, you’ll be too busy to pay attention.

That's French for “Black Eagle,” and that should give you a hint that this place takes the leather scene very seriously, indeed. Head for the back bar for live fetish shows that make San Francisco or New York (or, for that matter, pre-Castro Havana) look like Peoria. During the summer, the outdoor street-level terrace is filled to the rafters. Theme nights of leather and rubber gear draw in those the hard-core — or at least those who dress that way.
