Ground specialists at the mission control center confirm the existence of the asteroid after observing it through a telescope, and after further calculations, they determine that the asteroid will hit Earth in 9 months.
Dr. Vanessa Love and astronaut Andrew Moon are left completely alone after landing on the lunar surface, they are in close contact with each other, and make every effort to finish their scientific observations and come down to Earth.
In the end of the movie the main characters emotionally discuss the upcoming expeditions and seriously consider changing the location.
