For the next few weeks, we'll be kicking off the Hot Mass podcast series with sets from all of our residents, starting with recordings from the recent Hot Mass x Berlin party at Ohm Berlin. @alex_price is a co-founder of the Detour label and crew, which program the third weekend at Hot Mass. Alex was on opening duties at the Ohm takeover and knocked it out of the park with a set of thick, moody techno.

If you told me that I would be playing alongside 3 of my favorite DJs a few years ago, I would have laughed and wouldn’t have believed you. Dreams do come true though... in the past year I’ve been on lineups with Patrick Russell, Lena Willikens, and will be playing before Silent Servant this month. Each DJ has taught me so much about the craft of DJing: Patrick with obsessive attention to detail and frequencies, Lena who knows how to keep things slow while constantly building tension, and Silent Servant who always lets his roots shine through and knows how to keep things abrasive, but funky.

This recording from May when I opened for Lena is really special to me and it encapsulates a lot of the sounds I really enjoy - I hope you do as well.
