„I’m Tom Wattel, a Sealand native, also known as DJ To-Wa. I run the record labels Sealand recordings and Seabeats recordings. Focusing on releasing projects I personally like and working with artists I 
feel like deserve more attention. Releasing both digitally and on vinyl!

Recently I’ve been playing more diverse bookings which made me experiment with different styles/tempo's within the “hard dance” genre. This mix contains most of the stuff that I’ve played at those bookings in a 2 hour set! 
The slower stuff by artists like Rabbeat, KRTM, The Silence and Mindustries really grab me the nutz these last years, the industrial rough sounds are just so powerful. But my love for the Phonky UK style by guys like Hellfish, Akira, Coretexx, Mykoz and Inqoherent will never go away. The mixture of breaks, hip-hop samples and ear shattering kicks just hits a sweet spot!

In reality I haven’t focused on music production for that long, I’ve always seen myself as a more classic way of being a DJ, but slowly I’m learning more and more! Recently Kool & Lethal Records released a remix project with Dutch rapper Hadess, signed at Infected Records, which was really cool to work on. I like it more to work with rappers (and other producers) instead of sampling. The process of working together really feeds inspiration, for me.

From my love for hip-hop, and watching scratch DJ’s for numerous hours, I’ve always used the crossfader for the cutting/choppy style mixing. This way I like to tease samples, tracks and chop everything to oblivion… „
