After a well received 50th catalog number and the latest EP from Moo Moonster & Parissior, Berlin-based
returns with its Lost Tapes series. A 10 track album from cutting edge artists deserving your attention.
Zombies in Miami, known from their releases on Running Back & Permanent Vacation kick off this release with their debut track on AEON, which had its beginning on some improvisation during a live show. The work on it continued in studio and out came „Running Again“. A song which is guided by a heavy 303 bassline, a driving arpeggiator, a dark synth melody and pregnant cowbells.
Rigopolar is no stranger to the camp. His last release on AEON was quite a success, also being found in essential playlists such as Dixon’s Track ID on Spotify. The arrangements of his songs are quite a-typical for this Italo influenced sound and therefore makes it so special. „Into The Sun“ as well is constantly evolving with small changes, grooving and driving towards its highlights. A tune to easily get lost in it.
Upcoming Lithuanian born producer and DJ Zakmina, who’s tracks already have been released on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant or Future Boogie continues the journey on this album with a dreamy electro/ breakbeat influenced piece. Adding some „Kraftwerk“ sounding computer voice, „Activation“ becomes a worth debut on AEON for the 25 year old.
We are also happy to welcome Vhyce, another young gun, who already made some noise with releases on Pets Recordings and Future Disco. The characteristics of his sounds are very clear and recognizable... Still he manages that his way of ‚simple‘ also turns out ‚effective‘. „Back To Where I Never Was“ can also be seen as the introduction to a massive EP following up later this year.
Russian Zakir describes himself as a producer with „meticulous attitude to forming“ of his music, reminding „of narration of a fairy tale“. „Courier 21“ tells us a story leading us through breaks, a classic 303 bassline, topped with melodies in arabic scale.
The Mexican line up on the 4th part of this Lost Tapes completes Guadalajara based My Boy Roy, who already delivered a massive remix for Alex Niggemann’s „Rise of the Machines“ back in 2020. „Chimerical“ stands out with its classic synth/new wave drums and a dark vibe bass riff, opening up with ‚sunshine like‘ melancholic break, before dropping back into its beats.
Another intro via Lost Tapes makes Rees, owner of the eclectic ‚Paradiso’ label with his uptempo tune „Dominate The Matrix“. His upcoming EP on AEON is long awaited and will include a remix from no one less than ‚Curses’.
Italian- Venezuelan Ricardo Baez, founder „Tropical Animals“ an event series in Florence, is up next with his tune „Ricordo Micidiale“ which is Italian for a very hard and strong memory, which at the same time could be a fatal or lethal memory. "This track resumes both things“, he says. Stomping 909 toms, driving bassline and choir/vocal like atmospheres might relate to the the constant battle of thoughts within minds of artists and genius minds.
Rotterdam based Machinegewehr has already made himself a name with releases on Correspondant and Amsterdam's Bordello A Parigi. With „The Maze“ the passionate drummer delivers a dreamy Nu-Italo gem with outstanding vocoder sounds and sets the bar high for his upcoming EP on AEON.
Lost Tapes Vol. 4 ends with „Mind Slave“. A track produced by Silicodisco, that finds its inspirations though the genres of Indie Dance, Future Disco and touches of post New Wave. A laid back, melodic heavy tune that perfectly rounds up an album, the AEON family is proud to present to you.

Following releases from Delicate Features and Raphael Schön, Freeride Millenium co-founder Jorkes takes control of the next with a five tracker titled 'Dancer In The Dark', backed up by two remixes from Younger Than Me and Curses. His first outing on the label since his acclaimed Wet Dreams EP last winter, the three originals showcase Jorkes deftness at reinterpreting influences like synth, disco and techno, to craft his own off-kilter take on sleazy electronics.

Front de Cadeaux was born in Bruxelles when roman Dj Hugo Sanchez met a Italo/Belgian guy called Dj Athome. The first touch was in the middle of a sauna party for big hairy men, hot and wet. Dirty sex and sweat dreams were just the click. They soon discovered that their music universe were created to become one. Both in love with the green psychedelia and both disappointed by the gay clubbing scene where people dance if only the bpm is at a very high and stupid speed level.

After having dirty sex, they spent days listening and sampling vinyls played at the wrong speed, discovering and enjoying the sexy power of the supreme “rallentamento”. Front de Cadeaux, a name that will leave Belgian’s fan of the band Front 242 astonished, confused and upset, started to create their own musical experiments that impressed Hugo Sanchez’s mate Rodion (his brother in the Alien Alien project), who put his poetic and supreme production touch on it.
Fabrizio Mammarella joined us after listening this manifesto called Le Pédé BPM. His energy was exactly what we needed to give you more acid.

We don't care of the BPM phags, we just want a world where the body and music makes love slowly all night long and we will fight a war to make it happen!

The ninth excellent EP on Blindetonation comes from Columbian pair Juan RMS & Technicalissues with fresh remixes from Curses and Aurum Miles. 

Juan RMS & Technicalissues have been making music together since 2013. Exploring the regions where minimal, house and dub meet and creating exciting new forms as they go, the pair now run their own Lay Down The Groove label. Here they show off their combined skills with a slick new single. 

The brilliantly gritty ‘Indulgencias’ is a chugging track with dumpy drums and wiry, sinewy synths wrapping round the groove. A dark whispered vocal adds libidinousness as it rolls on, grows in intensity and mesmerises you as it goes. 

The first remix comes from Curses, the dark and romantic moniker from New York City native Luca Venezia who mixes up shades of Italo, electronic music and rock and roll. This essential version is more percussive, with slapping hits and tin pot rattles all underpinned with stabbed bass and spaced out synths. 

The remixes are completed  by Lithuania producer Aurum Miles, an artist who plays guitar, keyboards, drums and synths and makes electronic music infused with elements of rock. He was part of short live pair BlowEnder and now solo once more flips the track into a perfectly menacing and snaking tune with low slung bass and inhuman sound effects. 

This is a terrific trio of visceral disco cuts that are stuffed with masterfully designed details.

Juan RMS & Technicalissues - Indulgencias (Curses Remix) [Blindetonation]

The Hard Fist imprint comes back harder with a fourth 12-inch EP, a global beat inspired work mixed with cosmic synths and acid lines. The two minds of the label, Tushen Raï & Cornelius Doctor joined their forces to release the striking « Lights of Khonvoum », trippy and definitely made for the dancefloor.
Back to the roots of their African influences, they produced 4 tracks inspired by primitive ritual music from the « Cradle of Mankind », going far away from the hype of highlife, afrobeat and afrofunk groove. Many mythological references are hidden in the project and most of its samples are borrowed to traditional Pygmies music from Central Africa and Congo. As a matter of fact, Khonvoum is a Pygmy god who created mankind with clay: black clay for back people, white clay for their white brothers and red one for... Pygmies.
Focusing on polyphonic chants and polyrhythmic artisanal percutions, the EP celebrates trance states of dancers during birth ceremonies, weddings or funerals. Cornelius Doctor and Tushen Raï try to keep the power of mystic and religious music in a modern way. They introduce heavy beats and dark cosmic synth waves for an allegoric club reinterpretation of ancestral sounds. To go deeper in the spiritual experience, the two wizards are joined by their favorite producers: their gang member Bawrut (who released « Drums of Passion », the 2nd Hard Fist EP) and Pletnev, son of the "down tempo" revolution's city, Vilnius.
The soul of the EP may be hidden in La Tribou, probably the most surprising and singular track. A dark heavy beat keeps you dancing while flooding you in a wave of tribal percussions, human panting, crying, having an orgasm and shouting.
