Istanbul n’est-elle pas la ville de tous les paradoxes, à cheval sur deux continents, un pied en orient et l’autre en occident, comme notre musique qui navigue entre plusieurs univers.

[ENGLISH] One of the first tracks we produced, where we sampled vocals from a typical fifties track. Istanbul, a city bridging east and west, blending many cultures -  symbolic of our  musical approach. One foot in the past and one in the future.

Original track not using any vintage sample but a complete Big Band Sound, remixed for the mainstream club industry, supported by a digital animated video in “grand style”, the track comes out in a 8 version packages and 2 unreleased remixes for promotional use.
Charlie Magoo – original creator of the track - and Nicolle Rochelle respectively perform the french and english version of this very catchy track.

About Charlie Magoo : Charlie Magoo is a multi-talented skills artist. Architect then ragga-ska performer (La Raya Magoo (Boucherie prod / Universal), he moved on in the digital image market as Director/Graphist/Musician.  Under his native name Charlie Davoine he is the creator of the 3D poetic portraits, (www.charlie-davoine.com). For the Big Band project as well as being the composer to the track, he sings the French version and directs the video .

 

About Nicolle Rochelle  
Nicole Leach (Rochelle) (b. May 10, 1979 in Montclair, New Jersey) is an American actress and singer. She attended Montclair High School. Leach attended Brown University, where she studied anthropology. Nicole has appeared in several television shows, including The Cosby Show, Shining Time Station as Harry Cupper's granddaughter/Kara's cousin Tanya, Clarissa Explains It All, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Third Watch and Law & Order. She has also performed off-Broadway in such shows as Fame on 42nd Street, Miracle Brothes, and Limonade Tous le Jours with Alan Alda (2004). In 2003 she played Katherine in Shakespear’s Henry V, opposite Liev Schreiber. In 2005, she played the title role in the musical Nefertiti. Nicolle also played the new Josephine Baker in "A la recherche de josephine” in Paris in a musical from 2006 to 2010. She has been a regular contributor to Bart&Baker productions since 2011.

About Bart&Baker - Bart and Baker (www.bartandbaker.com) are two parisian DJ/Producers, dressed in tuxedos and hi hats with house ( for Bart) & jazz ( for Baker) backgrounds. There are many dj’s playing electronic music but what makes Bart&Baker so unique is that they were the first back in 2005 to be able to mix old vintage samples with new, remix and revive old 1920’s music, scratching 1940’s and 50’s tracks and generally making new club music from a vintage source. 
As Bart&Baker says, “we pride ourselves on reinvention, using elements that already exist like vintage music, performance styles and costume so we were able to please or uncover the swing music shades of rhythms to both vintage fans and modern kids”.
Bart&Baker have played Festivals (Calvi On The Rocks, Bestival, LoveBox &Tomorrowland) and various clubs throughout Europe. They also have their own monthly residency at the world-famed Parisian club La Machine du MOULIN ROUGE.
They have so far released 6 full lengths CD through Wagram Music, including the 3rd, 4th and 5th volume of the Iconic serie Electro Swing.
Through their home label Entouka Productions, they have also released on digital 8 Eps through 2012. Many of their title have charted in the Beatport Top30 as well as in Juno (Top 20 recommendation of 2012). Their first “song collection” will be released in march 2013.
They have also provided official remixes to the likes of Dimitri From Paris, “lounge kings” Gabin and “electro swing stars” Caravan Palace.
In march 2013 was released their first collection of tunes “Introducing, Bart&Baker” on vinyl & digital. 
In may 2013, Yellow Productions, the label of BOB SINCLAR will release their first Club effort in the AFRICANISM serie, “Satchmo’s tears”.
