Hailing from the vibrant coastal city of Barranquilla, Colombia, Alexander Gentil is a DJ and producer who has been making waves in the music industry with his experimental approach to productions. However, his journey into the world of music was influenced not only by his Colombian roots but also by his time spent in New York City, the city he now calls home. During his formative years, Gentil developed a deep passion for the dance club scene and the DJs who electrify it, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in music. His dedication to the craft led him to study sound engineering, a versatile skill that has paved the way for his success as a DJ and producer.

Gentil’s diverse musical journey has seen him mix and master records across a wide range of genres, working with both established and emerging artists. Among his proudest achievements is a double-vinyl remix release of "Making Ends Meet," a nearly two-decade-old hidden gem by Craig Richard's little-known alias, Scumdolly. Gentil breathed new life into this classic, showcasing his talent for crafting unforgettable sounds. And more recently, Gentil released his own track, “Renazanz,” signed to DJ Mag Latin America. What’s more, Gentil also runs the Errant Recordings label, a project “infused with diversity, experimentation and modern day tech advances.” We caught up with Alexander recently, to learn more about the label, his future plans and also to chat over the mix he did for us…

The 5th release on BLKMARKET MUSIC comes from Scumdolly entitled ‘Making Ends Meet’ in the format of two separate vinyl.

Changing Room One and Changing Room Two are tracks that were made around seventeen years ago and never saw an official release. Scumdolly is an alias of Craig Richards, an artist we admire 
and are really hyped to work with.

The tracks feature new remixes by Subb-an & Adam Shelton, Taimur & Alexander Gentil, and Rhadoo.

On Vinyl One [BLKMUSIC 004.1] The A side features Making Ends Meet (Changing Room One), which is an original breakbeat version by Craig Richards that comes with with a twisted remix by Birmingham’s Subb-an & Adam Shelton on the B side.

On Vinyl Two [BLKMUSIC 004.2] The A side features Making Ends Meet (Changing Room Two), which is a 2nd original version by Craig Richards that is more four on the floor on the A1. On the A2 Taimur & Alexander Gentil deliver a driving New York style remix. On the B side Romania’s Rhadoo delivers his version with a more minimalistic approach to the track.
