It's with great joy that we're announcing a new release by SASCHA FUNKE: his first Kompakt outing under his proper name in more than a decade, ZUG UM ZUG will please fans of both his solo productions and his work with Saschienne.

Title cut ZUG UM ZUG clearly tags the legacy, developing from rather humble beginnings, with just a few drone pads and a straight bass drum to show for - but that's all SASCHA FUNKE needs to establish a rather complex atmosphere. Added percussion and the introduction of sparse piano chords venture further into the eerily calm vortex at the heart of this track, making for a formidable, yet exitingly ambiguous listening experience.

Human Machine is the mix of Musumeci and his friends Sisio, Simeone and Pavi’s music consciousness downloaded into a 1024billions Tb Hyper HD to experience first combination between human and machine and see what sounds like. First result is 'Black Mechanism Ep', three tracks that merge the sound roots of the four brains involved giving back a blend of world music, techno and house with a little progressive touch. 

The title track open the ep with a strong 'kick and bass' syncopated rhythm introducing the dark arpeggio spots and an anthemic mama vocals flowing on top of an impressive Bass Synth texture. 'Polymorphism' is the result of an unexpected chromosomic synthesis that occurred after the alteration of the genes, this made possible to turn an initial dark & deep groove into a trancy emotional tune based on hypnotic synth riffs and basic chords changes. Perfect soundtrack of our lost moments. Last pieces of bits 'Encode' is a bass drum knocker with little melodic infection, someway a natural effect of the techno nature inherent to the 4 subjects.

Debuted during Mobilee’s famed off-Sonar week to a frenzied response, French producer/live act Rodriguez Jr. delivers his first highly anticipated EP of 2015.
A renowned perfectionist, Rodriguez Jr. (AKA Olivier Mateu) has been honing his craft for 20 years. It stretches back to the Atari computer and keyboards that dominated his early production experiences, to the years spent disseminating superb on-point electronica as one half of The Youngsters on Laurent Garnier’s seminal F Communications imprint, right up until today when the artists works tirelessly to experiment with his machines in his impressive Brussels-based studio and push his sound forward. 
A mainstay of Anja Schneider’s mobilee collective since 2010, Rodriguez Jr. has been one of the jewels in the label’s crown; his effervescent live sets have made him one of the most exciting artists in his field, while his productions remain classy, catchy and always forward-thinking. 
The ‘Chrysalism’ EP sees Rodriguez Jr. tireless drive to develop his sound signature in full flight, all the while staying true to his core production principles of creating captivating, memorable electronic music.
Utilised to great effect in early stages of his recent live sets, the title track is a master class in dramatic juxtapositions and is an exquisite seven-minute composition of warm uplifting synth layers that build over a rough-edged clatter of drums delicately balancing the elements of tension and beauty on a knife’s edge. 
‘Etoile Du Nord’ (literally meaning ‘Star of the North’) is a dreamy, propulsive slice of Motor City-inspired techno and the kind you could imagine soundtracking a warehouse party at 6am as the sun begins to seep through the cracks in the corrugated iron roof. 
The EP is rounded out by ‘Kenopsia’ that evokes a kind of beautiful, eerie sense of somber as delicate layers of twinkling melody bubble over the contemplative patter of drums and the light drone of bass. 
“Going back in the studio after months of intense touring, almost one year after my 'Persistence Of Vision' EP, has resulted in strong moments of self awareness and experimentation with my machines. This is why I chose titles such as 'Chrysalism' and 'Kenopsia', describing obscure sorrows you could sometimes feel, without being able to name them,” Rodriguez Jr. explains. 
“Technically, this EP is a crucial step as it's a first attempt to define what my forthcoming album will be. I had collected lots of material while travelling, and my aim was to keep on developing my sound signature in order to emphasize the core emotions - it's been all about stripping things down, focusing on melodies and textures and, once again, finding inspiration in my deepest influences such as the early techno from Detroit.”

As he is a true globetrotter — never being able to stay in one place for a longer period of time — it came naturally to him to feature this trait in his first release. So it happens that he combined African, Indian, Japanese and Berlinese voices and soundscapes into a charming and unique selection of global tracks, just like an international cappuccino of music.

PREMIERE: Zone +, Agha - Take On Me (Original Mix) [Klassified]

Today we share with you an old yet special project for us. Similar to our love for humans like Gil Scot Heron, Jimmi Hendrix and folk heroes from our home country of Iran in our music, Chavela Vargas has always been another source of genius for us. Celebrated for her 'rough voice of tenderness' and her haunting performances, she was (is) a true powerhouse of a woman. In one of her songs she says (translated):

'I'm not from here, nor from there
I have no age, nor future
and being happy is the color
of my identity'
.
Her words are visceral. Given our hyphenated backgrounds with Eastern roots coupled with a Western upbringing her words became our medicine. Given this, we had to make our interpretation of her song which we've played live and in our online sets. Today is the day we share this project with you.
