i wrote this song about making peace with the darker sides of yourself. everyone has problems, but it's better to learn how to live with them and even love them in someways since they make you who you are.

digging my own grave

i have so many memories attached to the month of July. Summer has always meant a lot to me and I had an experience at the beginning of July this year that inspired me to create a song that served as a tapestry of all the things that make the month special to me. I hope the song helps you connect to the month like I do.

July

I don't usually make songs that are just live instruments but it felt right for this one. It's a song about remembering better times from a relationship with someone but also letting go of it at the same time. Also I just wanted to write a rock song. It was fun.

when we had a chance

I wrote this song because on a plane ride I was sitting next to someone who was watching a documentary on the backstreet boys and it really got me thinking about how important pop music is to culture. I wanted to write something that was as pop and fun as I could manage and since I was one an airplane I decided to make the whole song about that. But use the airplane as a metaphor for having a good time. Steady cruising friends.

Flight

This is an old song, I wrote it when I was like 16 but I've always thought it had potential. I decided to dig it up and polish it and put it out because I just like the vibe of it. Sometimes we pretend to be things were not because I want to make things work or we want people to like us. But that's what makes us human right?

Masquerade

I wrote this song about being terrified about starting music. Music fucking scares me dude. I'm always in my head about how I'm not good enough or if I'm just not cut out for this. But I keep going anyway. I guess that's all we can do really. We just keep working towards the things we love wether they work or not because we love them so much we can't help it. At the end of the song the perspective reverses. Maybe the reason I'm terrified that i'm not ready for this is because I'm actually the most ready I've ever been. Does that make sense?

i'm not ready

I've had to sacrifice a lot to pursue music. It's what I base my whole life around which means somethings have to get left behind. Which is hard, but I think everyone has to make choices like that in their life. I wrote this song as basically a diary entry about leaving my home to come to a place where there's more music and my feelings on what I had to leave behind. But there's also the joy in it too. I'm always moving, and I think thats a good thing to keep looking forward, but it does hurt to leave some things behind.

Turn the Page

Usually I'm always thinking about the deeper meaning behind my songs when I create them. I always have something to say. This is not the case with this song. Last year around Halloween I listened to Tyler the Creator's Chromakopia and I was like "I have to make some dope shit" and so I did. I listened to the whole album on the train ride to my buddy Landon's place and by the time I got there I was like "we have to make music right now man" and then we put this track together. It's not that deep, I just needed to make some hip-hop and spit whatever I was feeling over the beat that Landon blessed with his guitar playing. It's spooky, it's fun, it's whatever. Enjoy.

HALLOWEEN

Made this song forever ago. It was one of the first song I ever made where I really thought "this one could be a hit." This version I'm releasing is a reproduction of the original I made when I was 16 cus I thought it needed an update. At the time I was trying to get with someone who was probably the worst possible person for me to get with so I wrote a song about how I'd take things easy in the beginning so it'd work out. It didn't work out. Dope song tho. Enjoy.
