Release Info: 
Nick Brennan’s Tripswitch journey through electronic music reconvenes in 2018 with his recently launched onedotsixtwo label’s next unique artistic step forward. The platform’s third, highly anticipated release – ‘Voight Kampff’ – is, perhaps, the finest track so far from the occasional, intensely creative collaborative project joining Nick Warren and Tripswitch. This outstanding package is further bolstered with an exceptional set of remix interpretations courtesy of Cid Inc. and Öona Dahl. 

The two Nicks first connected back in 2006, when Warren licensed two Tripswitch tracks for his (now classic) Global Underground ‘GU30 Paris’ compilation. Over time they became good friends, with Warren becoming something of a mentor to Brennan, and with their musical tastes so aligned going right back to the 1980’s, it was inevitable that a studio partnership would develop when the time was right. Having first remixed Joey Fehrenbach ‘Wolves’ (The Soundgarden), their powerful studio chemistry then saw their debut original track ‘Savannah’ appear on Hernan Cattaneo’s ‘Balance presents Sudbeat’ comp, before being released as a single on the Sudbeat label and going on to become one of the hottest progressive releases of 2017. 

Cid Inc.'s music is already embedded deep in the hearts of many electronic music fans. Recent releases on Sudbeat, Lost & Found, Perspectives Digital, the wonderfully esoteric Armadillo label, as well as his own Replug Records, are some of the latest examples of his exceptional craftsmanship. Cid Inc. always looks to compose something that is not only profoundly memorable but also deeply moving, and as such, is a perfect artist to reinterpret ‘Voight Kampff’. The Swedish DJ/Producer with an uncompromising passion to create a contemporary, cutting edge sound, exhibits his inimitable blend of hypnotic house and techno to perfection here. A subtly powerful, intricate percussive groove provides a rock-solid backbone for his ever-evolving layers of electronic wizardry, as the track steadily soars towards an otherworldly state of heavenly bliss.

PREMIERE: Nick Warren & Tripswitch - Voight Kampff (Cid Inc. Remix) [onedotsixtwo]

The lone interpretation of 'You Find' is provided by Replug label artist Dmitry Molosh who returns for his third appearance. The Belarus producer's debut on the Finnish imprint proved impactful, making its way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Guy Mantzur, eventually leading to Beatport chart success and releases on Plattenbank Records and Sudbeat Music. As 2018 begins, Dmitry sits as one of the most exciting and in demand artists in progressive house, having toured the world, showcasing his fresh take on the genre while his productions remain on the cutting edge. Now presenting his first remix of the new year Dmitry brings 'You Find' a step closer to the dance floor. Encased in a soft hypnotic shell, it's reshaped groove and rhythmic pulses are transcendent, building momentum as the melodic storyboard takes shape. Atmospheric overlays and fuzzy stabs add further warmth, before the second of two breaks ventures into hazy harmonics and hopeful vocal phrases, creating a wispy musical collage to close out the eleven minute journey.

Part of the Cassino & Label duo that began in 2001, Andrea Cassino is an artist who quickly saw his work signed to a host of blue chip imprints that included, Armada, Babylon and Tilth Music, supported by the likes of Sasha, Tiesto and Van Dyk. Breaking out on his own in 2009, the Italian quickly discovered a love of the darker, underground side of dance music with deeper offerings that quickly found their way onto the catalogues of Balkan Connection, Soundteller and Lowbit, reaching the playlists of Nick Warren, John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo. Long term friends of Proton Music since 2010’s “Don’t Be Afraid” album with Alex Laben, Cassino has found recent success on the label with both his Nocturna project (alongside Danny Lloyd) and his solo material. May 2017’s “Divine” EP shone like a beacon with its heavenly melodies and intricate rhythms, and so it is with genuine pleasure that we welcome back the Argentinean based legend for a second remix after Michael A’s “Seven” in September 2017. Characterised by chunky rhythmic foundations and sumptuous bass groove, the melodic trope so central to the original, filters into aural range as it fits like a glove against the new bass and rhythm section. Evolving delicately, a deeply textured pad reveals itself before a new motif appears at the mid-point breakdown with a tinge of middle-eastern flavour. Picking up hypnotically in the third movement, Andrea Cassino’s skill is to craft and sculpt something extraordinary.
