Anthony Middleton is one half of celebrated contemporary house duo Audiofly, and now he steps out with a stunning new solo single for Get Physical Music.

As Audiofly, Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito have united crowds from the desert sands of Nevada to the terraces of Ibiza for well over a decade with their rich take on all forms of house music. Along the way, Middleton, who co-runs the labels Supernature and Maison D’Etre as well as the acclaimed Flying Circus brand, has occasionally delved deep into his own personal musical journey on labels like this one as well as Akbal Music and others. Now he does so again with stunning results.

He opens this terrific two tracker with 'What Could Have Been (Ode to BM2020)', an eight minute epic of deep and melodic house music. The drums are a smooth and hypnotic foundation on which sustained pads and majestic chords build layer upon layer of cosmic energy and pensive emotion. It's a superbly subtle and enchanting track that also comes as a Deeper Space Rework. This version has more broken beats and percolating chords, but just as much starry-eyed melodic beauty as the vocoder vocal adds a sense of forlorn post-human sadness.

This is another brilliant solo effort from Middleton, who remains one of house music's most vital artists.
