Alexander Choeb’s compositional work revolves around the implication of transformational processes during the creation of his music. Aspects of interactions with electronic instruments and sound processing have been a main focus in his work. Interactions as seen not only during concert performances, but also their influence in the early writing stages, which in many cases still result in entirely acoustic pieces. He combines highly structured and systematic approaches with phases of free and spontaneous writing. Alexander Choeb graduated in music production and sound recording (Tonmeister) from the Berlin University of the Arts (Germany) and deepened his professional experience at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Canada). In 2019 he received a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Kirsten Reese and was invited to continue his studies in the master’s programme under Tom Rojo Poller. Alexander Choeb’s work has been performed at Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts) Berlin and ZKM Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe amongst numerous other venues in Germany.
